Quick easy winter feeding

Yes it is quick and easy without much disturbance to the colony. It works great in a pinch. I know many beekeepers who use this from November through mid March to make sure their colonies have plenty of food

What was the mixture your using? I'm new to the beekeeping, with 2 hives. Trying to assure they'll make it through the winter. Is that parchment paper?

Yes parchment paper. It's 25 lbs sugar with 3 or 4 cups of Ultra Bee. A splash (like 2 tablespoons) of Apple cider Vinegar and 1/4-1/3 cup of like honey b healthy, pro health or homemade stimulate (optional) If you are in an area that has long winters and the bees are couped up a long time just add 1 or 2 cups of the Ultra Bee or dry pollen
