My hair was thinning and I no longer had the time or energy to deal with the length. So I went short (just above my shoulders) and sassy and now I do my hair in the morning in half the time it use to take. More time for my make up - lol. Looking good. Thanks for the video.

I use my Instyler all the time and love it, but I have never used it like this. I can't wait to try it this way. You have introduced me to so many hair tools and hair tips. I do not exaggerate when I write that it is because of you that I now have salon-looking hair every day. Thanks Angie!

Good morning Angie. I can't believe how easy you used this thing. I have owned one since they first came out. My sweet sis bought mine when they were buy one and get another one free. I have never used it. I tried one time and that was it for me. Also, I have the same little mirror stuck on my bathroom mirror. I swear we are so much alike. Lol, I feel like I personally know you you. But everything you like, I do. And the things you don't like or can't use, I can't either. I think our skin and hair are so similar it's really strange. Really love your tutorials. Thanks for helping us mature ladies I formed. Love and prayers

I’m not sure how I’ve previously missed seeing the Instyler videos of yours, but I’m so glad I found them! I’m purchasing one Friday, during Ulta’s hair even. I have ultra fine lifeless hair needs, and like you I can’t manage a beach wave with a flat iron or curling iron to save my life! 😆 I love this tutorial, it’s unlike any others! Thanks Angie for all of the inspiration you give!!

I bought the Instyler when you first talked about it. I really like it now. I struggled at first but bought a heat protective glove which made it so much easier to place my hair around the barrel for waves! Thanks for another great suggestion...your hair looks great.

I really like my instyler for taming and straightening my hair. I get a slight bend at the bottom too. It works a bit better than my curling iron and flat iron. But, if money is tight I would use what you have. They all have similar results.

Angie, I notice that YOUR Instyler has a silver metal roller, while the one linked has what looks like a black ceramic roller. Is one better than the other? I have had an Instyler for years, but I think it might be an older one, and it really fried my hair.

Angie, You talked of having some laser type work on your face in January, what kind are you having? Do you tint your eyebrows? What shade are you in the Chanel foundation?
@AngieHotandFlashy9 жыл бұрын
+Pamela Seithel Hi Pamela~ I'm having Fraxel Dual laser in January, I had an eyebrow crisis in this video... I used 3 different products (couldn't get any of them to work right that day??) and they came out way too heavy so I wiped some of it off and I guess they look ok? It's just makeup, a combo of IT Cosmetics YBBB pencil, Maybelline Brow gel, and Flower beauty take a brow powder! In the Chanel I wear Beige 40.

Diane. My hair is SUPER thick, course, long and curly. This tool has changed my life. You would love it. There's a learning curve and don't forget the heat protectant. My stylist is amazed at how healthy my hair is. Get the Max Instyler the barrel goes either direction as opposed to the original one-way. Let me know if you get one and remember it takes a little time to get the hang of it. I've spent my life with horrible hair, now I actually get compliments!! xoxo C

+Diane Reiser My hair is super thick and curly. I took it with me to Florida a few years back and sat by the pool and in all the humidity and my hair was still great. To be honest, I was completely shocked. I told my husband we'd go without food for a while before I'd go without this lol.

+Cara B Hi Cara, It sounds like your hair is just like mine! Except my hair is straight, but as I have gotten older, it has become more wavy. And frizzy! I want to know what heat protectant you use, and are we supposed to let the heat protectant dry before we use the instyler? I would like to get compliments too. But all I ever do is throw it up into a bun. I am disabled and I hardly ever go out of the house.
@carab77839 жыл бұрын
+Ruth Ann Castillo My best friends name is Ruth Ann, so I know you must be a wonderful person! Sorry about the difficulties you face, I think we should all count our blessings more often. My current heat protectant is this: www.tresemme.com/product/detail/353275/thermal-creations-heat-tamer-spray I may try some others in the future, but this one works really well for me. You may find another you enjoy better. I use it on dry hair and lightly mist with a tiny bit extra on the ends. Don't over wet it, just a light mist then LET IT DRY! Takes less than one minute. Also helpful is the InStyler KZbin channel, they have lots of tips. My hair is in the best shape ever. 1st, I rarely blow dry, I wash my hair in the evening and if it's still a little damp when I go to bed, if it bothers me, I might blow it out with a diffuser. 2nd, I'm now using oils, argan, jojoba, rosehips whatever I have at the time. Use sparingly or you'll be greasy. 3rd, I now rinse with cool to cold water on my hair, and I only wash about 2 or 3 times per week. This was never possible before the InStyler, but now my style holds and I may only need a 5 minute touch-up the next day. There are some good quality detanglers on the market now, I use the tiniest amount after washing. 4th, I don't use a towel on my hair, I used to use an old T-shirt but now I use a Turbie Towel, it's microfiber, I'll wrap it up for 30 minutes to get a lot of the water out. NEVER fluff or scrub a towel of any kind on your hair. 5th, I got a very inexpensive satin pillow case, it helps to 'slide' on your hair at night instead of grinding into a cotton pillowcase all night. My stylist is always saying what great shape my hair is in, I'm 53 and get compliments on my hair when I'm out, (not my face, just my hair LOL) I hope this helps even just a little. xoxo C

Thank you Cara, for your kind and thoughtful answer. I am very grateful for your time and trouble. I am taken aback sometimes when I encounter the kindnesses that people show! Especially in this day and age with the evil atrocities committed by soulless people. I do count my blessings to be living in the U.S.A. even though I fight chronic pain. I realize what a sheltered life I live. Your advice is very helpful! I needed some advice from a person with hair like mine, and yours is looking great. I see a lot of people on you tube that do not let the protectant dry before applying heat. I will get a satin pillowcase since I am in bed a lot. And a Turbie Towel! And I will get that heat protectant too! Thanks a bunch, Ruth Ann

Hi Angie-I just bought the Instyler, but was wanting to know what size barrel did you buy? I have shoulder length hair, and I think my size of barrel is too big. I have the Wet to Dry 5x Faster one. Thxks...

Hi thanks for all your tutorials they are wonderful. I did order the two way styler from Amazon and everytime it "taps" against itself it switches directions, so you get it going the way you want and then as you attach it to your hair it switches...sometimes, so you never know if it's going the right way!! When it works I love it and really want to keep it (they won't let me return it), but I wish I'd bought the one that only goes in one direction. Anyone else have this happen? It says you have to double click, but you barely have to move it and it switches, so dissapointed because it really works well otherwise!

Does it matter whether the metal barrel is under or above the strand? And what is the purpose of the barrel rotating in two different directions (not at the same time, of course)?
@AngieHotandFlashy9 жыл бұрын
+Kala Dwarakanath Putting the barrel on top of or under the hair will curl it in the opposite direction... the barrel needs to rotate in different directions so it's going with the grain of the hair... the one I have goes with the grain on one side of my head and against it on the other side.
@kaladwarakanath55039 жыл бұрын
Thanks, HotandFlashy. How does the direction of the rotation affect the type of curl? I don't get it. And also, how would the rotation be in the same direction as the hair's grain in both directions? Basically, I don't follow what you are saying.
@kayruane30717 жыл бұрын
Kala Dwarakanath, mine changes directions when I quickly clamp it twice. I'm not sure all models do that. I think they added that feature later.
