Regarding Antialiasing: The fuzzy white line as you described it is initially caused by ''antialiasing'' and it is best to avoid using it altogether when using the method you described. You really don't want your flats to be aliased. Antialiasing helps smooth out edges, making it so it never fills up properly (white pixels between flat colors). Many tools have this option in Clip Studio Paint and Photoshop. Shrinking the selection is one way to work and ''make it fit'', but it's more a bandaid than a solution as the problem still persists, albeit underneath your lineart. This is something you can easily avoid. If you set your fill tool with antialiasing off and you work on a lineart (that isn't drawn using antialiasing) then you can fill everything in much easier. Another way is doing it the comic book industry way (or rather, it's the variation I chose to adopt): 1. Fill the entire canvas in any random given color. 2. Select the entire canvas with cmd/Ctrl+A. 3. Start deselecting parts of the character, starting with the biggest forms. 4. After deselecting any given part, you switch the hue slightly of what you now have selected. 5. Rinse repeat untill you solidified every single part in a different color as needed. 6. Now change the flats to any color desired and done. Best part about this? It takes no time whatsoever and assures that in the printing process there are no gaps anywhere if you were supposed to hide the lineart. The colors are now truly continuous, helping also with potential printing errors. Just felt like sharing this! @marcfhuizinga

So does it mean that any individual part you deselect is done on a newly created layer and started with selecting with the entire canvas to start with? I'm really interested in speed up my process, so it would be great if you could elaborate more :)

These are all very good tips with in-depth explanations. Thanks! I'd like to chime in with one of my own using Vector Layers. If your line art is on a Vector Layer, you can set that layer to be a Reference Layer. When you then use the Fill tool to color, do so on a color Raster layer set to use a Reference layer. (It will automatically use your Vector layer where line art is. You can only have one Reference layer at a time.) In the Fill tool Properties, set the color to fill up to Vector Path, no anti-aliasing. This will make the color edge run right along the center of the lined areas and create an instant Color "Flat" for comics.

I do a similar thing without using selection/wand tool. I make new layer under the lineart, fill the whole background (with the "refer to other layers option" on the fill tool) do a selection on that background by crtl clicking the that layer and then inverse that selection. new layer and shift click with the fill tool and voila You've got a clean silhouette. To color it i do the clip to layer below option on the folder that i made above the silhouette layer. Anyhoo thanks so much for this lovely video 😊.
