I think Strava helps to push riders to go faster and ignore others using the trail . They are focused on a cup ,pr or a kom and not there to say hi or acknowledge anyone else on the trail . Going from a full squish to a hardtail from time to time is not easy as you said you have to be more precise but it changes up a ride making a trail you ride allot new again . Nice ride Jeff

It’s a great fork! It’s awesome on the FS bikes. I’m finding I really like the Trust Message on the Chromag- that combo works awesome. The 170 fork needs a bunch of damping to avoid drastic changes in ride height. But in the muck, a fender is the most important thing.

@guinnessaleful4 жыл бұрын
@@JeffKendallWeed I'm surprised it works for DJ! I like it for enduro-ish riding (ie, non shuttled DH) because it's slick and I don't need a Chamois, but then I'm 183cm so it's not cumbersome for me on gnarly descents and allows for varied balance on the ups. I'm a hardtail tragic and Covid has ruined shuttling so its the perfect bike for me. Glad to see you shredding the HT!

Hey Jeff. I've been working on my Stylus's fork (Lyrik) tune recently to try and keep it from bottoming out. I added two volume reducers (4 total now) and its a lot better but still bottoms out on big rolls over ledges. It is recovering faster but is there anything else I can try? Maybe stop rolling and huck lol? Trying to progress through Sedona's double blacks, I can handle a single drop but when there are several in a row it gets hairy.

The drop to flat at the 4:40 mark...I cringed when I SAW the drop, and then again when you landed. That did NOT look fun on a HT! Advocacy, maintenance, and donations are the key to a healthy MTB community. I applaud you for continuing to foster advocacy. We have SO MANY people here who "just ride their bikes" and don't do anything for the trails. Sometimes I genuinely wonder if it wouldn't be a bad idea to one spring, just have an agreement that no one is going to lift a finger to clear trails. I'm talking no weed eating, no pruning, and don't even cut the fallen trees. Sometimes I feel like that might help the "I just ride my bike" crowd to understand the implication of NO ONE doing anything, and help raise awareness of the volunteer effort it takes to keep 120 miles of trail just in the Bentonville/Bella Vista area clear, and maybe then we would have a little more "buy in."

Yeah, maybe they say 160 on their website, but I figure 170 is close to that. However, I’m finding I prefer the handling with the Message fork. The Z1 works awesome but the bike has some big geometry changes through the travel.

I just ordered in a Santa Cruz nomad for next year’s enduro season, but it comes with the raceface Affect R wheels which I have a history of denting and mangling. Want I9 hubs for the obvious engagement advantages, and found those crankbrothers synthesis allow hoops laced to I9 1/1 hubs. U think that would be a good choice?
@JeffKendallWeed4 жыл бұрын
Hey Max I have no experience with the CrankBros rims, but the I9 hubs are solid. I’d say if the price is right, go for it, you can always rebuild the wheelset around those hubs again should you ever need to!
