Hi Balkan, great tutorial. We learn a ton from you. Just a quick suggestion that items like dishwasher & refrigerator have offset when you place then with wall. That's intentional and required for plumbing and electrical behind the equipment. So please don't align those with walls. Those might see fine in CAD program but will never fit in real life.

I think this is enough to keep people in Archicad. Is there any advantage of this very complicated method of putting simple objects into a project?
@AussieBIMGuru5 жыл бұрын
Most professional firms build their own joinery items that are better than the content used here. Typically I combine these to standard kitchenette/joinery types for quick loading/use in many projects. Revit can be great, just needs well managed setup. Family creation is far more simple to learn and use than GDL in my opinion (and continues to hold back standard archicad users i meet from being in control of their content). Many users even agree, check this out; archicad-talk.graphisoft.com/viewtopic.php?t=66716
@lvseka5 жыл бұрын
@@AussieBIMGuru Honestly, I've used Archicad for 8 years now, and never have I ever felt like I was not in control of my content. Infact it let me feel like I have so much space for creativity from the word go. I'll try the Revit thing but I can tell you this isn't a good start. I find it to be unnecessarily complicating simple things. But we'll see in a years time what I'll think of it
@AussieBIMGuru5 жыл бұрын
@@lvseka I've tried both, each to their own. I have to base my opinions on the average users I meet. On average, users I meet have no idea how to use GDL. On the flipside, I tend to build revit content and assemble it quite differently to this video.
@lvseka5 жыл бұрын
@@AussieBIMGuru Either I don't understand the article you linked or I disagree. But this is my take: For 90% of the works that most Architects undertake, we tend to use standard fittings. Archicad allows one to quickly plop a basic object, stretch it and change it quickly to fit the context one is working on. Small things are taken for granted. Like the ability to click a highlighted node so that you can align it quickly to a wall. If you don't like the cabinet panels, quicky change in settings whatever it is. You'll always get to 90% where you'd be ant them to be. The objects aren't static. For whatever else you want either enter the 2D environment and quickly draw out a detail or model it within the same space using the standard tools, be it a handle, or panel and replace that specific part on the object you already have in place. It quite easy. For the other 10% projects where most things are custom, Just model in place using the lab and morph tools. Convert it into an object or just leave it. It's really up to you. It's really quite easy. But maybe this is where Revit shines, but I'm yet to see it.
@lvseka5 жыл бұрын
@@AussieBIMGuru I guess for people who built their own custom content I can see that. But it's not difficult on Archicad either

This has been the worst experience of my life. This turtorial brought me almost as much pain as my daddy issues and I feel sympathy for the generations of students that have to go through this. Every second was torture and every object was another piece of my sanity drifting away. The placing was off and is it that hard to place it without using the align tool like wth. Pain. Thats how I would describe this video. Pure. Absolute. PAIN.
