Quick Look at my new Walther Steel Frame PDP

Details on my Walther Steel Frame PDP. I cover the new features of the gin that separate it from the Q5 and plastic PDP. I also cover accessories and what mods I did to the pistol.

The reason the Q5 was a 15 round grip was because IPSC production optics division in Europe has a 15 round limit. It’s also why the beretta 92x comes with 15 rounders despite having a grip that should fit 18 Fortunately they realized it’s easier to make a USPSA gun IPSC legal than it is to make an IPSC gun competitive in USPSA

Good for competition. Great shooting gun. I don't feel much difference between the plastic and steel model, except for the weight. I won't conceal a +40oz gun. Doesn't work for me. A sweet pistol. Walther is back on there game for sure.

1800 is a steal of a price considering yourre getting an 18 round Q5 SF match which is what everyone wanted it to be anyway...and yourre also getting a PDP slide to go with it haha

Very nice pistol. I know once I heard that Walther was coming out with the steel model of the PDP. I knew I had to start working on purchasing one. I was already looking into wanting their 4inch Q4 SF steel frame pistol. But, now with this one coming out. Yes, sir! 👌. Yeap! I'll be doing the same thing with the grip. Slimmer palm. Get rid of that Hump, and have it more like a smith&wesson M&P or 1911

Taylor Freelance makes great +3 base plates! The newer ones are compatable with the factory Walther magwell where the older ones aren’t. If you contact them they’ll send you pics of old vs new

I don't care about the sound or feel of the reset, but a short reset is a blessing. PS. I am considering going for the polymer version, and getting a brass backstrap and magwell. It will save me a few hundred bucks in theory. I would still like to put a comp on my 4" FS, but that's not legal in CT.

Get the Pro SD so you can get the magwell and nicer trigger shoe. Unless the threaded barrel is the thing thats stopping you. In that case, my condolences.

Huge Walther fanboy here. I have 5 Q5's 1 Q4, along with tons of others. That being said, not a fan of the PDP. I just picked up a PDP SD Pro (because fanboy). I wouldn't get the PDP SF. I also picked up a Beretta 92X Performance and it shoots WAY better than my Q5 and i LOVE my Q5. I just feel that this PDP SF is the answer to the question that nobody asked.

Holy christ, SHUT UP. Nobody asked you. Any good shooter will hit you without irons inside 15yds. So if you want to go around believing that a lack of backup irons is a problem, keep telling yourself that. It should also be noted that the only sighting system I have had fail, IS IRONS. I have had one front sight snap (Dawson), and I have had one front sight come loose (Ameriglo).
