For my style of shooting I'd recommends their ED-PRS. It's only a little bit more but gives you up to 25x magnification and has MONSTER turrets

Is the reticle even useable at lower power ? I figure a lot of it is due to the side shot but the reticle was barely visible on even 15 power.

Yeah, it is. Sideshot + celly not doing it justice. Also the illuminated reticle lights up just the first MIL or so in all directions of the crosshair, so at low magnification it can kinda be used as a red dot - pretty sweet!

How do you use zero stop?

You just set it with set screws.very simply. It's got a peg that hits a part of the scope body and stops its movement at the set point
