When he dropped that screw out of the bowl and the look on his face... I felt that on a level higher than ever before.

You are so knowledgeable about the 2000 Sportsman 500. I wonder if you could give me some guidance and direction on a problem I have. I dropped a paper cap from a fuel stabilizer into the gas tank by accident. I can't think of any way to get it out. How hard is it to get the gas tank off. Or maybe you have another way to get it out. I feel like I need a trick here. I really don’t want to take the tank off. I have taken the seat off and the side shields. I was hoping that I wouldn't have remove all of the shields to remove the tank.

The tank is fairly easy to remove if you have the side platics removed. I believe its 3 bolts, but you might have good luck draining the tank, then removing the petcock from the bottom of the tank and possibly the paper will have settled there as the fuel drains and you can use a small pick to fish it out. Otherwise your best bet is to pull the tank(which you'll have to disconnect the petcock), and rinse it out to remove the paper, or let it dry and try to blow it out with an air compressor. Should only take you 10 or 15 minutes to remove the tank from where youre at now with the seat and platics removed.

One question is the 2 hoses that are looked at in the filter box. Where are they connected?

I know this is a stupid question - but can i biy a new carb and just put it on or are there adjustments to be made
@jakesburnoutgarage65272 жыл бұрын
It depends on where you live. Most carbs come set to run at sea level. So you may have to change the main jet or adjust the needle.

@jakesburnoutgarage65274 жыл бұрын
It was just normal wear and tear. The needle had just worn out and the carb was leaking. There was ove 4500 miles on the 4wheeler at the time i made the video. Almost 6k on it now and the carb is still great. I just ordered a rebuild kit for it off amazon.
