A quick overview of the indirect warping process for the rigid-heddle weaver. I designed it as a resource for students who have some familiarity with the process. It is easy to forget a step or two if you are just learning or if it has been awhile since you warped using a board or pegs.
Using a warping board or pegs makes it easier to manage colorwork and structures based on odd ends. It eliminates crossed ends behind the heddle that often occurs with the paired system of direct warping. It can be more ergonomic and allows you to top and start your work without taking up a lot of space. It takes a few more steps, but give it a try for a couple of warps and you will have a new tool in your weaver's toolbox.
