Will, I just purchased the Epson ES-580W scanner. I put in an old black and white photo, along with colored photos and it scanned the black and white "photo" as though I had used a copy machine. There was also one of the colored photos that came out black and white. Any ideas what may be the cause? There was one setting that I found (don't remember where) and it showed my photo just beautifully. I "saved" and did a preview and thought I was good. It came out as the bad photo. I may be missing a step. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

How do I set up for 1) switch between usb or wifi? 2) Need to use this in my car (I have the powersource planned out already) but need to use this either with usb or with hotspot but the epson es-500w only wants to recognize my home wifi.

I’ve tried changing the default scan settings to readjust the brightness, contrast, and gamma so that it’ll better detect documents with pencil writing and photos on them... but whenever I save my reconfigured settings they never stick! Is anyone else having this issue? Anytime I rescan, it always goes back to the default settings.

I had line setup fine and recently changed my router and ever since cannot get mine to connect to wifi or setup via usb… would greatly appreciate anyone’s help as well.

Does anyone know if there is a way to retrieve scanned files from this scanner? I have searched my computer from top to bottom and found nothing. Are these scans lost and unretrievable ?

I used to be able to just press the scanning button and scan and it would prompt me to a page where I could save the document in different places in my computer and now it isn't even scanning.

I could not locate the website to download the es400 was not listed I have the es 402 and it was not listed in order for me to do my download

This is a scanner, not a printer. It doesn't have ink cartridges 🤣

I purchased this scanner from FB Marketplace however the scanner will not work due to it being "connected" to another computer (previous owner). Is there a way around it?

Hi Tanesha, unfortunately I don't know that :-( it seems a bit surprising that it would be "locked" to one computer

It doesnt exactly say that it's connected to another computer but it just keeps giving an error and saying to check a few things but everything is connected right, still won't recognize it. The only idea I have is that the software is confused because I have another Epson scanner connected wirelessly to my computer. But I'm not going to uninstall the other one as I use it every day. Not sure what to do.

Can you scan directly into a Shared Folder?

Yes, I believe so! Assuming the shared folder is visible in the regular file explorer window.

When scanning to email I keep getting a "Cannot send email. Confirm the settings" How do I do that???

I've never tried scanning to an email. I recommend just scanning like normal and saving the pdf file to your computer. Then independently write your email and attach the file to it.

I bought this several years ago, but just unboxed it. We yuppies have more money than time-lol. BUT-my Macbook runs Yosemite, and cannot be updated anymore, and idk if this puppy is compatible with the chromebook???
