I used this while in Afghanistan while I started contracting on my private military company I used this so I could use gloves and feel what I'm touching like my rifle grenade this be a good way to have ur feelings when ur in tactical situations and u can't take off ur gloves to feel something I still use them for that to because reloading the rifle needs sensory without it It becomes very hard to know what ur touching

Is it necessary to use conducting cream?

Yes it is. It makes the stimulation comfortable and helps the conduction of the sensory stimulation to the arm and hand.
