I'm a beginner at sewing and I thank you for making a video of the whole process of sewing it, cause I can see all the steps, I don't miss any little details wich are very importants for beginners. Thank you from Spain.

Really cute little pouch! I love the fabric - where did you get it?

Thank you and I purchased the fabric from a shop on Etsy a few years back

I just love how you make your bags! Great job! What kind of sewing machine do you have? I love the narrow foot!

Thank you sew much for the kind words! I have a Brother pq1500SL and the narrow foot is my zipper foot, it's easier to sew small projects with.

I love this and will be making a few for my grand daughters....the only thing I would probably add is maybe a small strap over piece with a cam snap just so the phone doesn't fall out....better safe than sorry ! Lol ...great vid !

A snap closure is a great idea 🙂 Thank you

Hello! In the video at 4.23, what is that yellow, rectangular piece of fabric in the upper left corner? I don't see it mentioned or cut out anywhere so am not sure what to do with it. Thank you for any further info on this!
@abitofsewing37503 жыл бұрын
Hello, the yellow rectangle 0iece is the strap connector for the d ring

What is the name the cover you have on your iron. Do you have instructions for making one of those. I need that. :)
@georgiapeach67043 жыл бұрын
I made it today. Mine was a little larger since I did not have my daughter's phone for the measurements.

I need to find a zipper foot like yours. I noticed that your have a Teflon foot for vinyl. I worked in the garment industry from 1978-1992. My job was to install back zippers in dresses and later leg and pocket zippers for parachute pants.

I found my zipper foot and Teflon foot on Ebay. I didn't like the zipper foot that came with my machine (Brother Pq1500SL). Thank you for watching!

What do you have on your Iron?
@abitofsewing37503 жыл бұрын
It's called a iron sleeve, helps with fusing the stabilizer to the fabric and it won't stick to the iron

Hi - I have the end of the strap sewn and now ready to sew all the way around the open edge. At about 5:33, the strap is removed from under the needle. I got stuck here as it looks like that same edge is sewn again over the top of the first row of stitching. Is that for a more secure seam? Maybe I'm missing something as the video is in fast motion and I can't catch what else this might be. Thanks for any further info!
@abitofsewing37503 жыл бұрын
You will need to sew the other side of the strap that way you have each side sewn and yes, it does add more security and looks nice too when finished

@@abitofsewing3750 Thank you so much! I really appreciate the timely reply so I can keep at this project. I can see where topstitching on both sides makes for a nice finish. :-)

Hello Mary Jo, how did your project turn out?
@maryjodevillers33133 жыл бұрын
@@abitofsewing3750 Turned out well except at both ends of the zipper the fabric bunches up no matter how much I try to squish them down! I'm hoping they will flatten out over time. I like having the long vertical zipper opening - much easier for storing bills. I've also made one with a small horizontal opening but that requires folding the bills. It's nice to have a couple different styles!

What size was the strap tag. I never saw you cut it out.
@abitofsewing37503 жыл бұрын
Hello Dawna, thank you for watching. I think the strap tab was 3in × 2in.
@maryjodevillers33133 жыл бұрын
I think it is supposed to be 3 inches, but the video caption on the screen shows 4 inches. I cut mine down to 3 as I had too much fabric to go through the D-ring.
@abitofsewing37503 жыл бұрын
Mary Jo , that's correct, it's supposed to be 3 inches
@sandradahl94862 жыл бұрын
Aargh, I didn't have the zipper open when I stitched all around. Had to rip out enough on the exterior edge to get my fingers in there.
