Quick Sketching in Color #3--Watercolor

A very quick demo of adding color to a sketch with a big brush--the sketch may not be much more than a scribble, but the color brings it to life.

I am truly new to watercolor, drawing and paints. I love how you show simplicity of it and allowing what you intend to change and still look great. All I really have done is washes but I am more in love every time. Your folded journal is great and I plan to make some and give it as inspiration for friends and family. Keep up the beautiful work.

No, I don't, sorry! It was just left over from my more formal bound books--I like odd page sizes so I often have a strip left. If I want a longer accordion, I glue two strips together.

Soft press? There is no such thing and anyone teaching something should know the basics. There is only Cold Press, Hot Press and Rough watercolor paper.

Not so, Dark Whispers. Fabriano makes paper they designate as soft press. I suggest you Google it.

I don't know if other companies make one they call soft press, but when Fabriano changed the surface of their cold press several years ago, I didn't like it nearly as well. I was delighted to find soft press is similar to their old CP.
