*Quick Squirt Review* AK Interactive 3G Acrylics

I have found with these 3rd Gen paints, a ratio of 2 parts AK thinner to 1 paint really makes a difference to airbrush flow, and hardly any tip issues. My go to though are Mr Color and AK real Color. The AK 3rd gen are excellent for brush painting of course.

Thanks Jen, just saved me a ton of cash and time and trouble. Will stick to my laqs and acrylics and deal with the odours with an open window.

Thanks for the testing. You have saved me a ton of aggravation, as I have cleaned out slime goop from my airbrush about 3 years ago attempting to use AK paints. I have a few bottles and do not want to toss them, I will retry using Mr. Color thinner.

Thank you for testing these new acrylics for us. They seem to be a little better than the old ones from AK... But in my opinion the Real Colour series from AK are the ones to use.

These are nice for hand brushing small parts but I'm not so keen on their metallics, Vallejo Model Air metallics are better.

Thank You for this video, Interesting to see these paints used by an 'unbiased' modeller. The real world test with the various thinners was also very educating. I only have 6 of these paints, mainly shades of Blue which were purchased for a Tardis project that I have not got around to completing, this has given me a good few pointers for when I get around to testing them out 👍👍👍

Hi Jen, did you try a flow improver? I had decent results with Vallejo flow improver. Still not perfect though. They do mask well.

I did not, but it isn't that bad without it. I would genuinely use this stuff if I had to, and it will be what I buy in future for the paints of this type.

I have a hard time using anything but my MRP or Mr. Color. Current model I'm painting decided on Tamiya acrylics with gloss mixed in the flats with a lot of leveling thinner(color mixes were closer than with my other brands), and it's going on well.

That's what I use although I don't add clear to the mix. I find it very good in almost all circumstances.

Good to know that these spray nice with lacquer thinner like Mr. Color as you could use them if you were desperate, but like you say why would you? You would just buy AK Real Color in the first place. I suspect, like Vallejo thinners, their thinners has butyl glycol in. I have some of these 3G acrlyics but don't spray them, I use them for hand brushing details which they do a good job of, but I don't like their metallics.

I would buy them and use them for brushing, as you already do, knowing that I can spray them if I need to. It's just that little added versatility over the Vallejo and Ammo paints.
