I think your better off getting a solar power station, way cheaper, runs while charging, charges by solar or ac, you can run sensitive things off of it. This thing cost $2,600.00 cad, if bought with 4 , 15ah batteries giving you 1200wh of power. The bluetti ac200l cost $1,800.00 giving you 2100wh of power, and you can run dc tools aswell.

The DCW1800 is not THAT good. Gives power for a little more than two hours . Some calculated that a fridge could run for a whole night on it or they calculated a day of watching TV etc. This power station gives up very fast if low energy consuming things are connected. Even if you just forget to switch the power station off the batteries will be drained within 2 hours . Recommend a good inverter and a few car batteries. Cheaper.

You can buy a cheap generator for less than the setup shown in this video Charging Station - $499 Four 5aH Batteries @ $150/batt - $600 + 10% Sales Tax = around $1200 USD. Home Depot sells a Westinghouse Dual Fuel generator that’s 10kW and has available 110/220 output for $1199. Much more practical. No one actually needs this setup.

@TemplarX2
@TemplarX2 6 жыл бұрын
This DeWalt system is beyond lame. You should buy an ac charger , a charge controller and something like a 100 Amph AGM battery. Buy a 12 V tv or add an inverter to the system to power a 110/240 V ac TV. You could also charge your battery using a solar panel. AGM deep cycle batteries are a bit heavy about 20 kg but you will have more power for longer. You can actually fit all that compactly on a small trolley to make it portable. Plus this system can be used while it's recharging. You can add usb port, cigarette lighter socket etc to operate almost anything within the power limit of the charge controller or the inverter if you have one.

I can't understand why Dewalt installed a modified sine wave inverter in this as opposed to pure sine wave. It's expensive enough but to not be able to use it for electronics, fridges, washing machines, or anything for that matter with a chip makes this unit crap. I ordered one and already have regrets. What's the point of powering up equipment with this if it just shortens the life span?

@kennethfeld6639
@kennethfeld6639 Жыл бұрын
Using 4 6AH flexvolt is the same as 4 6AH 20v max. Basically the higher the 20V rating on the batteries, the longer the AC power will last - for instance I use 2 9AH flexvolt and 2 10AH 20V batteries and i can run my fridge well over 24 hours and not even get a low power light. with 4 5AH batteries, I get the low power alarm in roughly 24 hours.

20v 15A is DC voltage/amperage. The 120V 15Amp output of the inverter is AC voltage/amperage - all you need is any 4 20v max batteries (or Flexvolt) 3AH or higher 20V rating.

@@kennethfeld6639 can't be. If I just keep it switched on for more than 2 hours, without anything connected the batteries are discharged. In the description it says "No Load Current Draw: 0.8A"

I have a growing collection of flex volt tools including mower chainsaw and drill. I purchased several extra 5 ah batteries to allow extended use of those tools. I would like to put all of those batteries to wider use and a battery generator was at the top of my list. I was very excited about this tool until I learned that its only output option is 110vac. Converting AC power to DC storage only to converting it back to AC again is way too inefficient for my purposes. When Dewalt starts selling this power station with a 12vdc output option, they will have my attention.

You should have had a supply ready before you started selling these instead of a dismal 2 days were out of stock for 2 months scenario you have created now.So I guess YT people get preference, then free tools, then make money off people watching them use tools we need, all done with this total discrimination and YT getting top priority over common working man.

When I saw this I was stoked. Then I heard what it does. LAME. This unit should have its own internal battery that charges four 20v batteries not require 4 fully charged batteries to operate. HOWEVER... How sweet would this thing be IF you added 4 charged batteries to a FULLY charged internal battery. Imagine the punch it would hold. I could see myself coming home at night and plugging this baby in with 4 dead 20v batteries loaded and have the internal battery and 4 20v charging all night. If the internal battery could charge 4 dead batteries twice each upon depleting then sine me up. Pun intended. I need my dead batteries charged more than I need AC power. And for the love of fuck... Add solar panel tech to charge the fucking batteries and internal battery. I'm out of home to work, not drink coffee and use my personal " massager " Has any one gang charged four batteries with this charger then switched the four for four ? Hmmm what came first ? The charger or the battery. ANYWAY..? wisen the fuck up dewalt.
