We do have some videos showing this sewing machine sewing some light fabrics, it does it very easily. Just use a smaller needle, home thread and back up the upper tension and your ready to sew very light fabrics.

My Fabricator has been pretty much a paperweight for the last 10 months. about 3 small sewing projects into ownership, the needle hit metal and snapped. Then thread started shredding. I can't get the needle to go more than 5 rotations before it hits metal again. There is no snag on the bobbin housing that I can feel. Every time I sit down to try and finesse the bobbin case, hook and whatever else is involved (have no clue what all the pieces are called. I get so frustrated and walk away. Contacting customer support didn't go anywhere and none of the sewing machine repair places where I live are familiar with the Sailrite Fabricator. Any assistance would be appreciated, as my husband got it for me so I could alter his canvas martial arts clothing.

Please do a video on why this keeps jamming the thread within the bobbin. This machine has 2 hours, if that of sewing on it and it keeps jamming!! Very frustrating and I have been sewing for years and never had this much trouble!

I like that sailrite machine i watched the video setup, i am looking for a a machine like that i I kept searching on line but haven't seen nothing like the sailrite version, as for now am in process of sending back a third Machine in a month i just cannot find the right machine that i can work on my project, now i saw that machine i would like to purchase one just yesterday i spoke to one Amazon seller, and he recommended me that there's a machine call sailrite, i went on KZbin after searching on Amazon and couldn't find it i saw setting up demonstration that machine i have been searching for can someone please let me know which website i can get to purchase, also I'll will pay someone physically to setup,today I'll be sanding back my 3hird machine, the first one last month i shipped back was the Cobbler Walking foot, i watch the video over and over in KZbin and still couldn't get it performed the second one was a Rex 607 walking foot won't work on my project ,don't even had lightning/LEDs,3hird one is another Rex 607Z with a magnet light and this one can do zig zaz but still not going well with my project am in the process of shipping off today.in the space of 1 month i shipped, i just got stocked on my project. Can someone please help. Find that sailrite sewing machine along with a physical Technician/someone who wilk setup the machine,email me or message me.Thank you And Thanks to that Technician who shared that KZbin video can i get his information. is this machine good to sew leather upholstery? What size thread and needle would I need?

Yes, absolutely it is. For leather upholstery, which is usually lighter, I would use a V-69 Polyester thread and a size #18 needle.

No you are wrong step 1 fill the machine with the correct oil and run it thru using the right procedure. Very important

Thanks for your comment. Yes, we do fill the machine's oil reservoir in the assembly instructions and also the assembly video for this sewing machine. So don't worry that step is not missed.

I have a question, sometimes when I'm winding a bobbin my needle starts going again like it's sewing. Does that mean I need a new pin?

Just remove the balance wheel and clean the shaft of the machine and the hole in the balance wheel with a rag. Then place a few drops of sewing machine oil on the shaft and reinstall it.

Can the heavy duty steel balance wheel used on the LSZ-1 also be used in this machine? I really want the Fabricator with that option to use the balance wheel.

I've never sewn... googled and your machine came up. Can this handle 10.10 oz marine grade canvas? I want to make a tipi. What would I all need? What kinda needles for that material? I want to get myself this machine for Christmas... or another model you could recommend?

The Sailrite Fabricator Sewing Machine sews up to about 16 layers of 10oz canvas easily. Sewing your tipi will be easy for this machine. The package (in the link below) will provide you with just about everything you will need including the needles which are 135 x 17 style in sizes from #14 all the way up to #23. For your project you will need to use the size #20. Yes, the Sailrite® Fabricator® does sew light fabrics very well. Just replace the needle with a smaller size along with the thread and reduce the upper tension.

We don’t know much about those machine brands. They appear to look similar but they also look like walking foot machines and not a compound feed machine like the Fabricator (meaning the needle moves with the walking foot). The Fabricator is a rebrand of the Sailrite 111 which was originally modeled after the Singer 111W. Hope this helps.
