After a lot of research this is the best view finder by far, fully adjustable and a tip for securing it while you paint, no more finding your composition every time. The best thing is you can make it yourself, fantastic!!!! Thank you Dianne for all your tips :)

Fab idea! Thank you so much. I found plastic ties worked really well instead of wire. Also, you can use sticky back velcro for adhering to the card and non sticky back velcro for securing the wire / plastic ties. Thanks again. Love your channel.

thank you so very much for your professional advice. What about wooden skewers instead of coat hanger . I am just starting acrylic painting. Your your patience and style of teaching is so appreciated.

Wooden skewers should work fine. Just be sure they are straight.

Great seeing new ideas like this one. I like the velcro idea, but securing the pieces of coat hanger for each use seems cumbersome. I'm curious if large rubber bands would work instead of the metal rods.

+Kathleen Albright Kathleen, it seems to me that large rubber bands might work just fine. Thanks for adding to the idea. Dianne

Thank you-- this is fabulous! What about using a piece clear mylar and making permanent ink lines on it and make a couple of sizes, such as, a square one and rectangle. Then the wires do not have to be the issue. For extra protection putting clear shelf liner on those mat boards will give them more strength and protected better from moisture for lugging in plein air gear.

Thanks for your input, Sheila. This is an invention that I have since tweaked. I like the flexibility of the movable lines.
