Quick Tip: Cable Management for Firearm Accessories

Got bored, had the bright idea to try to disassemble an Axon to shorten the cables by desoldering in the switch, cutting to length and resoldering. The construction is very clever and robust but does not lend itself to disassembly (because only a bored idiot would do that). My new switch is out for delivery.

Clean👌 For the cost I just use zip ties and self adhesive sport wrap and it's served me well

Yeah....some zips and some camo-cloth wrapped around the handguard for that tactical GBRS look. lol

Barrel/gas tube heat isn't a factor in a setup like this? Seems like the heat would degrade those wires over time.

Possibly but then it begs the question - what setup doesn’t? Simple zip ties, ranger bands, tape, all compress the wires onto the handguard. The only way to not have this problem is to have the wires running loose which to me is almost objectively worse.

It’s just routing channels man. All it is is a aluminum mlok panel with wire sized channels and open space in the middle so they can either loop around or run straight through. It just clamps the wires to the hand-guard.
