Off topic but I feel like you'll get your channel suspended eventually. KZbin's new gun video policy dictates you can't "modify" the gun in any way on video, including instructional videos on how to attach things or insert a "high capacity" magazine.

Absolutely, or damage in heat of battle. A scope and or a red dot are useless if damaged, were the flip-up iron sights will keep you in the game and are much less likely to be rendered useless from a drop or tumble.

I have offset iron sights, absolutely love them. I used a 45 rail on the fore end with a bipod to zero. Use a no cant bipod. You should talk about that and how not exactly holding the 45 upon shooting will effect your windage. Honestly iron or red dot doesn’t really matter to me, I’m only using the secondary sight within a 100 yards.

Even though it's a 13.9 I will mainly be shooting 100 and in. .. but even with a RDS you can get hits to 300 easily with the right zero...... Just sayin', the Fab defense buttstock (minus that absurd cheek riser) works so well with the transition from using my LPVO, to 45 degree fixed irons. I disagree w the red dot. Iron sights w ghost rings are fast and accurate from 0-50 yards. Large aperture ring w single post is so easy to lock-in. Metal 45 degree offsets are very accurate and hold zero just fine. A longer scope can be your primary optic, like a 4-18x, which will be plenty for AR10 in 308.

Question on which is the preferred side for offset sights. In Calebs examples right hand set-up is on right, left hand set-up is on left. In both scenarios trigger hand rotates to the top-side. Any Cons to placing offset sights opposite side of dominate hand, so the trigger hand rotates under?

I believe all you have to make sure of is that the red dot is directly over the barrel when shooting, even if it’s not perfectly 45 degrees. Now, if it doesn’t line up perfectly, the windage and elevation adjustments won’t work, but I’m not sure you’d really be using those if your red dot is for back- up closer ranges

Coriolis is ~4" at 1000 yards, relevant for shooting at that range, but most offset sight shots I imagine would be 100 yards or much closer. Coriolis is probably not something to worry about, but the sights being over bore when you cant, that will definitely be noticable even at short range.

I put strips of electrical tape flush from the end of buffer tube in strips about 4" starting with 3 strips on top, overlapping. I put the stock back on and test the fit. If it's still lose I keep applying tape on the circular portion of the buffer tube as mentioned above and keep testing until you like the fitment. I don't get tape on the bottom part of the buffer tube. You won't be able to get your stock back on if you tape that portion.

Optics are more prone to damage and the battery powered ones will run out of power and remember that batteries are vulnerable to heat and cold. Always have an iron sight for backup are lesser prone to damage because of the small footprint profile but get metal ones of good quality not plastic. I'm coming from a military point of view not your casual civilian use since gunowners are buying and owning mil spec rifles and carbines - treat it as such because you don't want to end up in a pickle should you have a failure due to a damaged optic or the juice runs out and don't have time to change out batteries or forget to have spares or another spare optic that is zeroed to swap out in a firefight... In the army when it was the real army not what we see today that started from the fall of 1994 is the started point of wokeness and negative weaken military by the Clinton Admin - we used iron sights, and the range went out to 300m, and I hit those with no issues as I know that Marines had an extra 100m+ using their M14 back in the day... much respect to Marines being top notch shooters because of their method of training that the army adopted then was done away with which was sad. I served 87' to 95'...
