Lindsey the Frugal Crafter recommended this video today for anyone having issues with their atg. I don't have one, but I thought I'd have a look see because I'm thinking about it and knowledge before hand saves a lot of trouble. So, thanks in advance for some really great advice!!!

I have been going crazy with this problem and had no idea what was happening or why it was happening. Thank you so much for this explanation and suggested solutions! I am thrilled to try something because I was about to give up on the ATG.

Thanks from Brisbane, Australia. Have just received my ATG from Amazon via a USA friend so I will do this right from the get-go and hopefully will enjoy this tool.

Finally someone figured out what the problem was, thank you so much. For the longest time it was driving me nuts, but I thought it was just the design of the ATG. I made and applied the circle papers, it is working perfect. Thank you so much.

I have only owned my Pink ATG gun for a few weeks and I wondered if I was just not using it properly. But I asked about this problem on my FB craft group and someone steered me to this video! All I can say is BRILLIANT!! I cut my shim by hand from a plastic lid (like butter or yogurt - and it is clear like another viewer suggested) and while the circle is not 100% perfect - it works PERFECTLY!! This fixed my problem INSTANTLY! Thank you!!

I just received my refills, 2 packs unfortunately due to budget constraints, but I made my shims and installed a refill. Just testing the dispenser was heavenly. It worked so smooth and time will tell if I have jamming problems. Thank you so much for sharing this remedy.

God bless you Amy R!!! I have been struggling with my ATG today trying to make 2022 Mother’s Day cards. I have gone through 2 rolls (ruined) and finally poorly got a roll of tape on the stupid ATG. I will try a shim or two & laying extra rolls flat. Love ya!! Happy Mother’s Day!!! 🥰🥰🥰

Thank you very much. I have had this issue and never figured out why, I never thought of hanging being the reason. I have had the tape shift to the opposite side of the roll. This makes so much sense and I will try it with my next roll. Thanks again for sharing.

Thanks for the great tip. As I watched this, I wondered if it might be better to cut the round shims from clear acetate so you could see as the tape is close to running out. I love your videos; they are always a treat to watch.
@melanier759810 жыл бұрын
Thank you! 3M Corp owes you a debt of gratitude! One of the things mine does when the return has started to fill is the used tape starts to feed down between the two wheels and gets caught in the rollers. I found that if I remove the waste from the return when I've used about half of the tape it will not happen. Only recently have I had trouble with it shifting on the rollers. It never occurred to me that it was in the packaging/display. When I'm ready to get more, I will consider ordering by the case.

Great video, Just saw this but I cut out the circles out of Cross Stitch Mesh, I just use a sharper to mark the bigger and smaller circle, then scissors to cut it out--works great and I have been using the same mesh for 4 years.

Hello Amy R, I just want to thank you for this video . I just brought one yesterday and have learned from using my Xyron Mega Runner to research how to load and use the ATG. Yes, I thought to use Acetate as well not only to see, but a lot of times that darn tape is sticky where it is not supposed to. The refills are really not as good as you would like them to be, in fact I hardly use my Scotch ATG gun anymore, so thank you for this, maybe I can learn to appreciate my glue tape gun!

Great tutorial! I'm a new ATG user and I get aggravated with this thing pretty easily. My first experience loading it didn't go well....the struggle was real. I noticed that the tape that came with the ATG looked pretty loose, now I know why and how to correct the problem with shifting when it happens. Thanks a million for the link to the boxed tape! Debra

Amy, you are a genius! The ATG is too large for my hands, but I know from my friends that it can be a bear. I did buy the pink one because it seems smaller and eventually I'll get around to it; I've bought adhesive in bulk -- so I'd probably go for the larger purchase as you did and the flat storage, especially since seeing your video. I thought the distortion from bulk purchase and flat storage to smaller purchase was very apparent in the video! Amazing in fact! I agree with Melanie -- 3M owes you a commission! You've probably solved a major problem for them! Anyway, thank you and I hope you are feeling well and things are going well for you.
