The beautiful islands of the Azores have been on our travel list for years and we were so excited to finally have the opportunity to visit. We shared three videos to our Azores adventure and spent the entire time on Sao Miguel Island which was just a magical place.
We visited a ton of sites all within a short distance from our amazing AirBnb. We took in some amazing sites at Lagoa do Fogo, hiked to the waterfalls of Salto do Cabrito, and also enjoyed our first (of many) hot springs at Parque Terra Nostra! We also had some side visits to Cascata da Ribeira Quente and Lagoa das Furnas.
We also saw all of the highlights of the Sete Cidades area on Sao Miguel Island of the Azores. Driving around the spectacular volcanic crater lakes was one of the highlights of our trip to Portugal. During this trip, we hiked the Boca do Inferno, saw the Carvao Aqueducts, explored the abandoned Monte Palace Hotel, and swam in Ponta da Ferraria. We also enjoyed a few smaller sites such as Sao Nicolau Church and Mosteiros.
Our final video from the Azores visits the remaining parts of the island we have yet to visit. We drove the full loop around the easter half of the island, vising Caldeira Velha, Gorreana Tea Factory, Ribeira do Caldeiroes, Poca da Dona Beija, and many spectacular overlooks. This full day tour highlights more amazing reasons to add the Azores to your bucket list of travel!
