Thanks for the tour. I am especially interested to see your deck layout & backstay cascade/chainplates. The previous owners of our 1972 Ballad (hull #18?) attached the split backstay -- *and* the pinch-style tensioning tackle -- to two stainless bails that bolted thru the rear pulpit stanchions. They were not up to the task & threatened to pull the deck clean off the hull. So I've made a pair of 7mm x 38mm chainplates to bolt thru the transom about where yours are. Nice to know they will work once installed!😁

That looks like a really good condition boat. Never seen the furling line/tape like that... just make sure you don't think it's a jack stay! :) That line you are 'missing' to hold up the boom is called the topping lift. The little pull out shelf for the glasses is so simple but really clever. Just one thing is that I'd try to find a proper sealed bucket for the flares to make sure they stay dry but also just in case one sets off inside the cabinet - could be pretty nasty. Cheers
