In the case of Ketu: We know that Ketu is a headless planet, and it doesn't know in which direction it needs to go, so it gets a sense of direction via the guidance provided by the sign of Sagittarius. Secondly, as Ketu is a planet of detachment and Sagittarius is a sign of optimism, so whatever detachment that one faces in life towards the house in which Ketu is placed, one is always optimistically able to get over the sorrows felt by that detachment. In the case of Rahu: We know that Rahu, being the very opposite of Ketu, is a planet of highly focused energy. As focused as an obsession. So as the sign of Gemini is a much less focused and a more multitasking sign, so here Rahu is able to use his highly focused energy into doing multiple tasks at the same time with the same focus. Secondly, as Gemini is also a sign of light-heartedness and of being less serious and more casual, so whatever obsessiveness that one feels in life towards the house in which Rahu is placed, one is always able to maintain a sense of light-heartedness and a casual attitude towards that house, instead of being crazily obsessed towards that house. It is not that Ketu and Rahu are "exalted" in a particular sign, it is just that we are able to utilize their energies in a much better way when they are placed in Sagittarius and Gemini.

Rahu and Ketu, in my experience, have exaltation signs. In my experience, not sure about debilitation. The exaltation sign of a planet must not compensate for the planet's lack. It must enhance the planet's natural strength. So, Ketu exalts in a sign that reinforces its detachment and not compensate for it. Also, Ketu actually will not be comfortable in Sagittarius because he will be "forced" into a direction and "optimism". By the way, the quality of detachment is not superior to the quality of optimism. If some of us think so then it's only our social conditioning making us think so. Ketu exalts when he is in his naturally amazing quality which is detachment and not have other qualities "forced" on him. Ketu is a monk and exalts in the sign that helps him be the monk with most ease. Similarly, rahu exalts in Taurus because it helps him be even more intensely focused and also perhaps even be obsessed with better ease. This add to what Kapiel says about Taurus helping rahu seek the senses out. Furthermore, if we want to use the energy of rahu and ketu then we want them to be in their heightened natural element.

I have my Rahu with Venus in 1st house ,libra sign and Ketu in 7Th house, aries , nothing bothers me more than romantic relationships… Don’t know why I feel so so interested in having a partnership yet I fear of the hurt as well. actually i am very detached from from money. But now am realising that I want lotsss of money coz am sick and tired of staying in a PG hostel. Water has gone over my head. I want money just coz I want a rental flat then on my name. I want to at least have own cooked food. Fed up of eating out.i can hardly save cash after my expenses. Haha, the brutal Dhanishta 3,4 padas. 3rd lands in Libra Navamsha & 4th Scorpio. With Aquarius & Scorpio moon in D1&D9, 4th becomes extremely brutal. Yes, rises & changes in income but bank balance remains just sufficient or below expectation. Mental distance from parents - mostly from a principles point of view. Just stays away from them either by choice or destiny. Self-sacrificial. Takes suffering coming from others or universe on self. Highly protective of children. On the d1 i do have ketu moon Scorpio in the 4th house, Rahu Sun Taurus in the 10th. On D9 is Rahu Mars Mercury in Taurus in the 12th, ketu Scorpio on the 6th. I had a dream some months ago, just think of it like a short movie. I was a student at a school that looked like Hogwarts from Harry Potter, but the building was a very narrow and very tall structure. I was running through the hallways as someone was looking for me. The one who was looking for me was quite a tall, fair skinned guy with brown hair and he was wearing a luxurious looking purple coloured suit. Wherever I was running, he could trace me because somehow he could smell my trace. He was very cunning and intelligent. Outside the building, a body of a huge snake was wrapped around the whole school, from bottom to top but that snake had no head. Somehow I could feel that the head of the snake was the guy in the purple suit. I was running because I knew if that guy found me he would take me away and that would not be good for me. Then I ran to the top floor of the building that consists of a huge library. There, a librarian, who was also a professor was cleaning the library with a spray cleaner in one hand and a white cloth in another. This guy looked like a gentleman in his late 30's, dark skinned, tall and quite slender in a black suit. I asked him to help me hide and he told me to hide in the attic. With a ladder I climbed to the attic and there was another hidden library there, the walls were made of glass and I could see the sky. That professor somehow sprayed the cleaner in his hand and wiped the trace of my smell in the library. I was squatting in the attic all alone among a lot of old books, shivering in fear. After a while the purple suited guy reached the library and asked the professor if he had seen any girl coming in the library. The professor told him that he saw no one. After hearing this the guy wearing purple suit started doubting himself as my smell led him to the library, but in the library there was no trace of my smell. Then he left the library wondering what had happened. After that I heard a noise and woke up.
