Hehe it is a bit ;) the engine is small for a big man. Even with me 60kg weight sometimes struggles up streep hill lol but still love it

I'm a dude who rides this bike. Let's not stereotype this as a "girly" bike. It's an excellent bike for first time motorcyclists ( male or female) like me. I'm 5'10 and this bike has near perfect riding position and just enough horse power to not overwhelm a new rider. Good review nonetheless, hence the like 👍

As you can read in the yamaha manual, the choke should be used only for starting. After the engine started, the choke should be half in, then after a short time it should be off.
@ofcaa128 жыл бұрын
I am only using choke for few minutes and then its off. Bike is too hard to control with choke on :) and yup need it in winter to start at all:)

In the winter, you could buy some Waxoyl (Halfords etc) and cover the chrome parts. Once summer comes around again, rub it off with a soft cloth and your chrome will be pristine. Waxoyl also kills rust.

Hello friend. I love the color scheme on your beauty. I am a 26 y.o. dude from Bulgaria and I have considered buying a Virago myself, but I have struggled to choose either the 535 or the 750. I am going to use it primarily in the city, but I want to go on trips in the country side as well. Sooo, I don't know if I should spend the money on a 750 and be safe, or just go with a 535 and be done with it. And yes, it will be my first bike. 😁 Thanks in advance for the answer. I would love to hear your wisdom and experience riding your 535 as well. It's been 9 years after all. 😆
@PaoReno26 күн бұрын
@@BORISXII l love my virago. I wish it was 750 because l ride with pillion and sometimes more power means better safety in traffic. The 535 at speed of 80kmh is shaking a bit. I wish l could go faster, l can yes, but engine feels like its at maximum. Thats not great. Soooo…my answer for you is - 535 is a great solo bike. City friendly. Occasional trip out as well. How longe have you been riding ? I guess you have your full licence now?

Hi all. I would say a great step up from a 125 if you like the style and riding position.....or in fact anyone who, like me realises that a lot of bikes are pretty pointless on today's roads. You should be getting much better mileage than that, I can get 150 miles on mine easy (including reserve) also the choke is there so you don't have to wait for the bike to warm up! Knock it off (probably in two stages) as you ride. A rear shocks upgrade may improve comfort as they are pretty hard as stock but that's kind of a pay-off for a 'laid-back' style of bike. Looks like a very nice example. Happy riding.l 👍

What are you doing with your bike? How can it take 12 litres for 60 miles? LOL! (It has 13.5L tank BTW). I'm doing around 115 miles in the city and more than 170 miles in mixed conditions per tank. The bike also has a "fuel indicator", but a special one - mechanical. It starts turning the power off until you switch the trigger from FUEL to RES (so, the bike is sure that you know about the fact that you are going to have your tank empty). It happens at the moment when you have around 3.5L of fuel left in a bottom tank (yes, XV535 has two tanks). That's it ;) And I also cannot find the words to comment your speech about chocking for 10 minutes :D :D :D You are going to overflow your carbs.

Yes... it's normal for the fuel pump to load up (rattle sound) when you turn the key on. It is loading fuel into the line. Wait for it to stop and you are good to go.
