Nope. The payments are payments on a liability. The charges on the card are expenses

why does card card payments appear 2x on chart of accounts after entering as a bill payment. It shows as a charge and as a payment?

Which account are you looking at to see this? If it’s a bill it’ll show as an accounts payable and when you pay it it’ll reduce accounts payable so it’ll show twice in AP but one is an increase and one is a decrease

In chart of accounts it increases and decreases. But doesn't help in reconciliation as one needs to be aware that it is entered 2x automatically.

How to record a CC thank you payment from an account not in QBO? When categorising it asks for an "Account" or for "Credit card payment from" but again it's an account not in QBO. How do I record that payment to the CC

Sorry a "thank you payment" is a payment that was made to the CC. The account isn't in QBs bc it's a personal account. Only use QBO for business not personal.@@QbuniversityOrg
