1. When I import a new chart of accounts, are previous entries using the old chart of account impacted? 2. Does the old chart of accounts go inactive or do I have to mark them all as such--or do they just disappear from being available?

The old chart of accounts stays and old transactions are not impacted .

Sir I messed up my import it when triplicate and the instead going to the opening balance it went to other entry which is part of the balance sheet. What to do? And ended deleting them one by one.

Manual deleting excess accounts is the only way

If I export my chart of account and add some accounts and then import the file I worked on; will import all the chart of account with out errors?

The duplicates will have errors, but the new ones should be ok

No, there isn’t a mechanism for that... but you could enter it in the invoice date
