Can you please explain how to set up a fiscal year from the mid of month on quickbooks? For example, Aug 15 to Aug 15 is a fiscal year. If I set it up August to August, I can see a report from Aug 1 to July 31 that is not accurate.

Here's a great Quickbooks tip. Get rid of it as soon as you can. It is a terrible product with a poorly designed, fragile database. Besides being poorly designed, Quickbooks also has the worst customer service in the industry. So what is a guy to do? Well, you should also stay away from cloud based accounting systems (especially the Quickbooks version) because they can and DO "go down" from time to time (in the summer of 2019 a portion of Quickbooks was down for several weeks). For those who JUST need a "single user version" of an accounting program I would recommend using any version of Peachtree between 2003 and 2012 (after that they did away with the free payroll module). Use it on an XP computer NOT hooked to the internet. Never update the XP operating system or the accounting program and you will avoid a HUGE cause of problems. You will be able to use this set up for decades to come. Right beside it put your "online" computer for bank statements, sending emails, etc. You will then have the best, low cost, most stable, single user accounting system it's possible to obtain.
