From what I could tell, the zombies can only break doors and glass(minus the explosives some have). So I think you could have solved 70% of your problems in this series by just boarding up your windows.

1:34:42 the reason they weren't growing is most likely because you have a Seasons mod in the modpack (I noticed in a tooltip that some crops said something about their fertile season, and I am currently playing RLCraft where it does the same). It was not the right season, so the crops simply said "no". There is probably a greenhouse glass item you could have made to make them able to grow regardless, you were on the right track with the natural light, kind of

Favorite part of the mods were the soldiers for hire and the dark leaves and grass in whatever biome that was. Reminded me of a haunted dead forest. I saw a mod where you could put armor on wolves. I think Minecraft should add some of the mods into the game.

If that were me I would've taken some of that spare armor to give to the guards while it's only legs and boots it still could have some enchantments like unbreaking or Mending that could make sure your guards don't need replacement gear or make sure it doesn't break as often also in my eyes Diamond gear is diamond gear and offers more protection than iron

Listen to me in these type of situations management of resources is critical so any armor you find if you don't need it think about the guards because then they'll be better at defending you and need to heal less the best armor I saw you give them was iron and as you saw Iron was like stapling a piece of paper to their chest and calling it armor
