In Tower of Power at 4:32, would it be faster to do a normal jump over the thwomp, onto the brown block and then jump straight to the second net? I did that in my first playthrough and it felt way faster.

Yeah it looks like it'd be 10-15 frames (0.16-0.25s) faster or so, just from not being forcibly stopped by the first net. Not a huge deal for now since I'm just trying to complete some runs with few deaths for AGDQ submission, but thanks for letting me know!

In tower of power I somehow managed to get a late spawn on the saw after the second p switch under the orb and landed a spin jump that got me near the finish. I think there is a possibility of skipping the last section but I couldn't figure out how to late spawn the saw again. May just be due to manipulating the vertical screen scroll through the jumps after the switch. Felt doable but I'm not good enough now to nail it.

Excellent run, I hope this gets into the event since the romhack runs are almost always the highlight. What was the mushroom cheese meant to achieve? Just a damage boost onto the thwimp for a minor save or something more substantial? I'm assuming the former but any time someone sneaks a mushroom into a kaizo level you've got to hope that it just completely wrecks something.

I took damage too early, normally you can dboost and run to the end, saving about 4 seconds since this is custom lava with a solid surface (I assume for the saws)

The first level of this game doesn't work for me. It won't show the bottom of the screen, so I can't follow the bullet to the end. What a stupid annoyance.

Probably because the bullet strat is a speed strat and not the intended method.

Nah, it's kind of a tease to make you think you have to shelljump. There's a goal tape on the lower half of the level that is offscreen.
