Owen I love your channel for a number of reasons, for me you bring back to me my childhood enthusiasm of modelling Airfix kits and kits in general and Airfix got better and over the years. I also would like to say your channel title of quick kits is so apt for me because it reminds me of my bad tendency of getting too drawn into greater and greater detail, making the build longer and longer, never mind my greatest dread, painting, At that point the completion has become so stretched along with my initial enthusiasm, and the kit never gets done, and joins the other pile of unfinished kits. So thank you Owen for reminding me of the ethos your channel title suggests alongside the simplicity of brush painting, with all your skills, advice, and knowledge you try to pass on to us, I'm trying to enjoy the journey too, alongside watching your channel. You make it fun again !!!

I would have to say this is the best model show video I have ever seen. You had a wide variety of interviewees, very good camera and sound, great editing and loads of links. Great work Owen, it's so nice to see attendees get interviewed, rather than just have a standard photo gallery uploaded to a website. I was at this year's Telford IPMS on Sunday, I'm sorry I didn't see you or I would have said hello. For a model maker Telford is like Christmas come early because, as you say, the quality of much work is outstanding and there are lots of stalls to spend at as well, many of which had special offers on. My favourite model at this year's show was Pete Usher's ISU 152 diorama which won a gold and is also featured as an article in the latest issue of AFV Modeller. Thank you for doing such a great job promoting the hobby, maybe I'll see you at Telford 2018.

As many have said, exceptional video, good pace, clear camerawork. Very watchable. Last time I built a scale model KZbin didn't exist! Now I spend hours being inspired, and I have a part-built spray booth in the garage because 2018 is the year I get back into it. Hence, 10th Nov is in my diary for Telford 2018. Good man.

It's a shame not to see more younger people involved but one thing that always impressed me about modellers is the fact that they have no problem sharing some of their tips and tricks. I always wonder why planes are in 32nd scale while tanks are in 35th scale? Does anyone out there know the reason why? Can't they standardize into a similar scale? Thanks
@Mishn07 жыл бұрын
Many modeling scales are borrowed from long traditional architectural scales. 1/32 scale is one of these. 3/8 of an inch on the model equals one foot on the prototype. That's the reason 1/48 scale is often referred to as "quarter inch scale"; 1/4 inch on the model equals one foot on the prototype. The general opinion on 1/35 is that when the Japanese started producing armor kits, they were mostly motorized and 1/35 was the smallest they could go and have room for the motor, batteries, etc. Another scale anomaly the Japanese perpetrated was a short lived go at decimal scales. 1/100, 1/50, 1/25, etc. The only one that stuck was 1/25 for Japanese car kits. The established western 1/96, and 1/48 were to strong an influence to overcome, but people would overlook the difference between 1/24 and 1/25 in car models. 1/72 scale is popular just because IT IS THE ONE, TRUE SCALE...and nothing more needs to be said on that subject. ahem...
@molock106 жыл бұрын

When i visited Marshal museum in Owerloon NL i felt like some scale model builders visiting this place. Marshal museum in Overloon is museum with bigest display of WW 2 era vehicles. Then if you travel the EU it pays to visit Belgium military museum in Brusel oposit to military history museum you got car museum. Then further down in Germany you hawe Spear museum with Soviet Union space shutle Buran, Displayed Boing 747 and Antonov An-22 the bigest turbo prop in the world and much more tehnical stuff. If you in navy the Germany navy museum in Bremenhaven is place to visit with last typ of U-boats that served in WW-2 Typ-21 Wilhiam Bauer if i'm not mistaking. Well it's nice to see stuf you build on display in a scale: 1:1... 😋😁💪
