I just came across this comment, but you can actually see a video on equipment and assembly from my first every clarinet course here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rYiuZ6GDd7NsmrM

I live in an area withe prtty high humidity and my reeds tend to get mold on them when I don't use them for a few days. I put some moisture absorbing pakcages in the case, but that doesn't seem to help. Do you have any tips? PS: Thanks for this video, this was very helpful.

Interesting, I have never run into that issue, especially if you aren't using them for a few days. I would maybe start by trying a different reed case, or seeing if there is a way to ventilate your reed case and/or where you are storing your reeds better. You can also rinse reeds with hydrogen peroxide to help get the mold off and it won't hurt the reed.

How do you keep track of which reed is which? Do you number them? If so, do you mark them on the reed?

I keep track of where they are in the case. My case is just one flat long rectangle so it is easy to keep track. It is totally fine to mark the reeds with pencil though!

I know this was 5 years ago, but I'll still comment how I keep track because my case is lowkey a giant mess. So, my strategy for keeping track of them is, first, marking when I opened them, so for example, I opened this new reed on May 19th, so I'll probably put either 5/19/25 or just 5/19, and if I opened multiple reeds, I like to label my reeds based on which ones, in my opinion, sounded the best the first day, so if this particular reed sounded the best, I'll label it "1", and so and so forth.
