Note for people doing this, your original Miraidon/Koraidon cannot be moved from your party into the boxes, and therefore it's likely that pokemon will never be able to leave the game and be transferred to home. If you trade away the extra you get in Area Zero, you probably won't be able to get your box art Legendary into home when it becomes compatible with SV.

I used Ceruledge against the Koraidon and he literally couldn’t touch me. Giga Impact and Collision Course don’t affect the Ghost-Typing and Flamethrower won’t work if it has Flash Fire as an ability. The only thing he could do was Bulk Up

This is stupid. The box Legendary you get at the start of the game can't be placed at the box so you will never be able to transfer it to Home. The second Miraidon/Koraidon you get at Area Zero can be placed in the boxes so you can transfer it to Home and between Scarlet or Violet.

Yeah, so this doesn’t do exactly what you say it does. It allows you to fill your Pokédex, but it doesn’t allow you to have both to put into your National dex, as you cannot put the primary “raidon” into Pokémon Home. In short, when you trade your “raidon” you lose your Pokémon forever and now have to play the game again to get it so you can have a full National Dex.

For this reason I miss the GTS. There were a lot of things about the GTS I don’t miss, but the GTS let us put our Pokémon up for trade in exchange for a Pokémon that we wanted. Bless the community for trying to use these codes as best it can, but bringing back something like the GTS would be really nice for trading in future games.

You CAN still battle with your companion, but it can’t be boxed and has to switch to its battle mode if you want to battle with it. The moment you use the bike again it leaves your party. It’s annoying but possible.

I don't recommend doing this. Your ride pokemon isn't boxable but the extra from area zero is. You can't put your ride pokemon in Pokemon home, only the extra one.

Note that there are scam artists out there who will trade you junk pokemon for your Miraidon/Koraidon by gambling that you will rush and click trade before you realize what you’ve done. That’s how I lost my 2nd Miraidon and Master Ball.

It seems like a risky move. I have a feeling the reason they are giving you a extra legendary is so you can transfer it to Pokémon Home down the road. I highly doubt you’ll be able to transfer your ride Pokémon out of the game.

If you only have one of the versions, then if you trade the extra you can pop the one you get into Home when that updates and then start a new game to get the one that matches your version again. If this is your only means of getting the other box legendary, gotta do it at some point to get that one into Home.

I'm the maniac who played through both games twice, just to trade a second legendary to my brother who then traded them back to my main profile. All so I could trade that second one for the opposite with people (I didn't get the games at the same time). So I had my ride pokemon and one in my party with the other legendary.
