For whatever reason, this was my first tank line in the game. I remember immediately selling both churchills and the black prince as soon as i got the next tank. The grind was awful so im glad to see these tanks buffed at least a bit.

@@Daktangle This was also my first line back in like 2012. I hated the Church 1 and 7, but loved my Black Prince. I still have the Black Prince. Though, I HATED the Caernarvon. I sold that as soon as I got the Conq.

A still from "The Iron Giant" when Hogarth's mother is saying that he cannot adopt a wild animal as a pet, with the caption "Do you remember the Caernarvon, Hogarth? I remember the Caernarvon." I ground out the Caernarvon while the FV215b was still the tier X UK heavy and the Caernarvon's top gun was still the 83mm 20-Pdr. While still playing the Caernarvon stock, I was face hugged by a T-54 ltwt that was superior to the stock Caerrnarvon in almost every way. Over the course of the grind, I averaged only 1076 points of damage and assisted damage per match. As bad as that sounds, it was good enough for earning the first Mark of Excellence, which meant that 65% of all players were faring even worse. Checking my stats, today, those numbers are still better than 58% of players, so replacing the 20-Pdr with the 32-Pdr was not much of an improvement. Maybe, I might have done better if I spammed premium rounds, but if a tank has to spam premium to be effective, it is obviously broken. To add insult to injury, the stock Conqueror was a fully upgraded Caernarvon, at tier IX. The whole UK heavy tank line3 seemed to be a pointlessly cruel practical joke perpetrated against UK tank lovers. At the time, the entrance to the line was incredibly fun (the tier IV Matilda). Each subsequent tier felt worse, bottoming out at the tier IX stock Conqueror. With the upgraded suspension, (needed to carry the turret upgrade) turret, and gun, the Conqueror was okay, but nowhere near the payoff needed to justify the horrible grind to get there.

In real life the Chuchill was able to exploit hilly/mountainous terrain brilliantly. Should have amazing terrain resistances.

I think the tiny wheels tend to slow it down while going over bumps. "Terrain resistance" in-game has little to do with climbing, but rather how quickly the tank would slow down if you cut the engine at speed.

I quite enjoyed the Churchill I and VII but I think the Churchill Black Prince was just about my favourite Tier 7 heavy tank. Was a dream to play and got to Tier 8 in no time.

I am so pleased to see the Churchill I featured. I used to play WOT on Xbox (and for some reason keep watching QB because I enjoy the content despite never having played WOT on PC, or having played console since about 2016) . Churchill I was my favourite tank, I had all the perma camos on it, six skill commander and three marked it. Glorious gun and slow enough for me to play.

During the pandemic WOT was a shining light in the middle of darkness for me. I also used to play this on Xbox, unfortunately nowadays playing on console is an awful different experience than what I have seen on PC. It was nice to see another console player around here!

There is so much more to QB's videos than statistics. Every element is encompassed and it all flows so smoothly. You learn a lot about the tanks, about the battles, about the strategy, and the finer points of making your shells stretch. And overall you are invited to laugh along when it all goes wrong. What an asset for our community and as always looking forward to the next video :)

I've watched QB streams and vids since when he was new and upcomming channel. His reviews are good and entertaining. Always loved when some purple guys where in the battles against him before the anonymizer option. He kept his cool and was ready to out play them. Because he knew. He was red mist magnet for them to kill him and bragg about it.

When the line was first introduced, Churchill I was already powercreeped. Same armour scheme as Churchill III premium and this one was already on the weak side. Churchill VII was fine when first introduced IF enemy didn't know their very exploitable weakspots - parts of the hull are portruding into tracks and are very easy to hit and penetrate. It basically negates the otherwise excellent armour it has. Black Prince - basically was the same deal as the Churchill VII but it was surprisingly nimble despite painfully low top speed and used to have vastly better turret armour than it has now - it was basically T29 level, but gun was a constant problem - a gun that would be underwhelming on a medium tank on a heavy... Considering the ever increasing amount of gold, armour of these tanks stopped being worth a damn - so you were left with sluggish tanks with low alpha guns - a complete nightmares to play when bottom tier.

Back when i started wot in 2014, churchills mostly came very late into the frontline, but it was a beast. I remember a lot of games where the church was just this t6/t7 matilda, often winning against 3 or more reds, because the turrest is fast, ppl shot the Tracks a lot more and Gold ammo was kind of nonexistent in randoms.

Yeah they were a force to recon with but for me there wasn't much strugel against them many player's can't Handel low alpha high Dpm guns (I my self strugel too beside the crasy matilda gun that is a autoloader with 1 Clip already loaded XD) soo they aren't that dangerus there armor is pretty thick but there armor Layout is well questionable so that helps only against autoaim-noobs and slows the big tank down. I mean Back than tanks gg was already a thing or even weakspots skins(never installed the skins but took a look at the tough Nutts ) and since mediums and lights fit my play style preety well and arty back then was way more potent so most of the time the Churchill was bombarded by arty and out flanked by me/I know it's weird weakspots that I could abuse and shock even same decent players So I think it was back in the day good balanced and today's buffs are great for its intended playstyl without making them OP

The Brit mid tier heavy tanks only need a speed buff of about 4 kph to get them where they need to be with the fast games today IMO

WG is still a sad joke. KV2 gets 35 KPH ingame - in real life, it barely managed 25 KPH on road surface. Yet the Churchills ingame were deliberately kept 10 - 15 KPH slower.

The Churchill was the first tier 5 tank I ever got, 10+ years ago now. I just thought it looked cool and was astounded by the 700 hp, though I was terrible and hated the grind.

I went ahead and got the Churchill III premium and maxed it out with bond equipment and a 4 skill crew. It now has a reload of 1.64 seconds and is a beast!

Turbo isnt just to get into the fight. It's also to reverse back behind corners which allows you to control the engagement. You can also better chase down fleeing tanks. Turbo is mandatory on a tank with 25/12 top speeds.

Dunno if these buffs were that much necessary. When I was grinding branch, except mid tier modules, Churchies and BP were still slapping. To some point, with good MM it was like kicking puppies.

that design element allowed the crew to have escape and ventilation hatches on the sides of the vehicle, making it hands down the most survivable and comfortable tanks of the war.

The Churchill 1’s top turret isn’t a Cromwell turret. It comes from the Churchill MK III, the same one as the Soviet premium.

I started the line last time when SConqu was top of tree, but stopped at BlackPrince as i don't play on daily base and later played other tanks ... I didn't have the worst time in the churchills maybe because i didn't expect to much from them. One thing i wwant to point out on Churchill 1: QB, you used big gun, but i prefered - as some other CC advice - the 57mm gun. The penetration for standard ammo is a bit worse, so you need to shoot more gold, and the dps is lower, so you need to shoot even more gold but in return you keep the gun depression to an acceptable value, while top gun is not so much better in penetration, looses the gun depression and also dpm for an only average dps

Churchill I was my first tier 5 heavy way back in 2014. It was the first tank I MOE'd, and I used to love playing it at tier 5... still do on some occasions. I absolutely hated the Churchill VII, and I played the Black Prince only a few times and hated it even more. I love the Caernarvon, and I'm currently grinding towards the Conqueror. Maybe I'll take the Churchill I and VII out for a spin again when I platoon with my clanmates.

i suggest trying out the 75mm on the Churchill that inset the top gun, it gets more than double the gun depression and much better DPM, although the penetration is much worse, to me its worth it. the top 6-pdr gun is similar, but with less damage per shot but better pen

Oh god was it a slog to get through the Cherhills. When I did it 3 years ago, the black prince gun bounced shots into side armor, point-blank, at a 90* angle.

I played through that line shortly before the SQ as released. So I played the unbuffed T5,6,7 and the canarvon was also no not jet buffed. And even though I really liked all these tanks it just was tuff. Especially the Black prince needed loce :)

I’m not a heavy player. I’ve played this game for 11 years. I started on the Brit heavy lines a few years ago with the Tier 5. I still have it in the garage because I never progressed past it. It was an utterly horrific experience.

All you had to do was keep the AMX M4 45 permatracked because then you ensure T-832 is blocked and cant shoot you, in which case you couldve gotten them both and not get harassed by the Terminator.

I bought the Churchill I a few months ago and it ran roughshod in almost every match I played. I had a ton of fun with it, and I'm not a great player statistically by any means. Once I moved up tiers though, it was horrible.

I finished this grind right before the buffs dropped 😅. To be fair, I didn't like either Churchills, but by the end of the Black Prince grind, I realized I enjoyed it and was sad when I sold it. There's a possibility that I buy it back in the future. Especially now that its been buffed!

the pea-shooter alpha is still extremely painful to play. so now you can not throw insignificant rocks at the opposition a tiny little bit faster. that isn't really a buff, is it? you'll just get frustrated a bit quicker as your shots bounce or do next to no damage per shot more often. and you'll still have to go a long way to convince me that WarGaming doesn't hate the British.

I don't like the fact that they are taking away ALL of the sniping spots from TDs. If they want this game to be mostly, if not completely about tanks then just take the TDs and Artillery instead of making playing one of them crappy as hell.

Did they really change that west corridor? Looks pretty much the same to me as it did when I used to still play a few years ago. Still serves the same purpose really, just a grinding bloodfest that generally doesn't do much while the game plays out on the rest of the map. You almost always have to turn around after winning that side because it takes waaaay too long to get to their base. Even if you push, all it takes is one person to use the hill and poke you until their team wins. It's just sorta a black hole in the map where nothing's really decided.

Main problem in this game still is the ridiculous gold ammo spam. Youre playing tier 5 game and everyone is spamming gold. Its just autoaim and repeatedly hit the mouse button. Stupid

I have an old Vega64 and I can play WOT in 4k UKTRA on average 100/110fps with 56000x cpu ok so the GPU is maxed out at 100% all the time but its stable

I got the chance to skip the churchill 1 and im on the chirchill6 and they are for sure good tanks even before the buff but they are so slow and as a free to play player mostly it really not fun to play them or enjoy them. They have good dpm and good armor but they are just so slow and i really cant enjoy them cuz of that but ay its balanced that way so no critizism there but thank god they buffed them a little to bring them on bar with the other more popular tanks
