I worked as a designer for a firm in Houston. When we used the term classic with under 45 year olds, they freak out. They think you are describing Grandma’s house. Quiet luxury feels better to them.
@wandaherbert96818 ай бұрын
Agreed. Most of us have used this “quiet luxury” as a lifestyle and drawn to kindred spirits. I cannot see wearing head to toe logos lol. I hope Valentina goes with what works best but for me, I think the Row et al borrow designs and quality leather from brands like Coach circa 1990s. What goes around comes back around it seems. Grateful I can shop in my closet.

I LOVE zaalouk! I prepare it similarly except I roast the tomatoes along with the eggplant to really give it the delicious smokey flavor. YUM! I do advice you to place the eggplant skin side up when roasting. Then I pretty much do the same as you in the pan after scooping the flesh of the eggplant and mashing it - sautee it all in the pan. I use a good quality Spanish smokey paprika to keep that smokey flavor with the veggies. OH boy I will have to make some tonight - love it!!!! :) xoxo

Question for Valentina - where did you get the bowl set you are using to serve your eggplant dish in this video?
@ShelleB8 ай бұрын
I agree. I have a collection of designer bags that I purchased when I was younger that I seldom use any more. The luxury goods prices have increased so dramatically since 2020 it’s just ridiculous. There are brands like Demellier, Polene, Aspinal & Strathbury that are just as well made and don’t cost a fortune. I’d rather than have $5k in the bank than dangling on my arm. But, that’s just me. Everyone is free to spend their money however they wish.

Hi V, I can't stand the term 'quiet luxury', it's literally just a fancy pants term for classic 😁. The '17' bag you showed I would use as a weekend overnight bag or to put my bowling balls in 😂😂. Your hair looks beautiful, the curls are so cute x
@Specificpickle8 ай бұрын
I disagree. To me quite luxury differs from classic. Quite luxury can be classic, but has improved quality over just a classic item. T shirt? Classic! T shirt with organic cotton, made in the USA, and high quality seams? Quite luxury. Also, things that are very gilded and flashy can be classic within their context. Gilded lavish items are not quiet despite being classic within their own motif. I hope this helps see why people have started to articulate things as quite luxury!

Hello Valentina! Love your hair with the curls!!!! Adds a bounce to your step. I go to Drybar once a week and love getting my hair done similarly - and it does last a good 4 days. The other days, I do my best with the Dyson airwrap - which by the way I really really recommend if you haven't tried it. I also use it on the days I need to 'refresh' my professionally done hair the days following. Love The Margaux and the color! To be honest, the bigger one looks a little too big next to your petite frame as an everyday errand bag - but the small one is just perfect!!!! I will be keeping an eye out for one myself too! I have been a fan of Loewe bags for a few years now and own a couple. To me, they also fall into that 'quiet luxury' category. I get compliments a lot when carrying the Loewe Heritage Bag, and now thinking and watching the bags you are showing us - it has a very similar style as the Margaux and the Prada! xoxo Cheers V ~ from Los Angeles! xoxo

Valentina, I had a large bag similar to the row bag in shape and also did not zip closed on top, but had magentic snaps. I was so disenchanted with the bag that I ended up giving it away. Here were the reasons why : I work in downtown LA and you can't carry around anything that doesn't close on top 2) It was very heavy 3) The bottom of it stuck out so much from my body that people would bump into me all the time because I was too "wide."😅

the bag - The Margaux - I agree it looks stunning...but it doesn't have a closure that is easy to close for the bag's main opening. Nope! But she is lovely! Those inside pockets - I usually put my wallet in a zippered pocket, and my phone in a smaller one (so I know where it is!!!) By the way, I too have the Hourglass face palette - mine is for fair, but I used the "select your case' option, and mine has an owl it. I agree - the formula is amazing...the fair has 1 highlighter and a finishing powder.

@Lucretciela8 ай бұрын
@@karlaschmid8757 There's respectfully giving a nod to bags and styles of the past, which is done regularly in the designer market. Think Met Gala. There is making a similar bag simply because it's the current style of the day, and there is blatantly ripping off another brands bag to the T, whilst that brand is experiencing a massive success with that particular bag. There is a BIG difference, and that's exactly what Prada did, they are attempting to ride the coattails off of the Margaux success. It's an obvious NO-NO in the world of high end designer anything. And the fact that Prada is a HUGE brand with massive backing, and The Row is a MUCH smaller, independent brand that has to work much harder for their success, it makes Prada come across as jealous, petty, & pathetic. Doesn't help their reputation.
