Intro: the apartment. (6:30pm, stranta, 14th,) After a long day of work, Jared (ghost guy with weird emo hair) finally came home to his somewhat decent apartment. The exterior of the building was mostly brown, almost like a deep, orange tinted burgundy hue. The stairs leading to the apartments were dark gray with mild hints of desaturated blue. The doors were white. the kind of white you'd see on a frat boy's tank top he'd wear whilst listening to five finger death punch and brutalizing a homeless woman; Somewhat greasy, somewhat wet looking. "I'm home Keymeo!" He shouted to his roommate (a duck guy with a tragic past), barely able to muster the energy to speak at such a volume as he opened the door. The interior of the apartment was actually quite nice looking. Cherry Wood flooring, light blue tinted windows, dark grayish blue walls, peak chill out aesthetic. "So, another hard day?" Keymeo asked in a tired, yet stable voice. "Yeah." said Jared, struggling with what little strength he had to hold back tears. "It's ok buddy, the day's over." Said Keymeo, noticing how teary Jared's eyes were. "So there's no more daytime? No more time to enjoy today's warm weather? Great." Jared said sarcastically, jealous of Keymeo's bright and optimistic view of life. For a second* he wished that one day he and Keymeo switched personalities so he could be happy again, even for just one day. Then he snapped out of it. (7:01 pm, stranta, 14th,) "Uh, hey dude. Are you ok?" Keymeo said, worried about his roommate. Jared incoherently stuttered before pushing out a strangled "most definitely!" As if something was trying to stop him from saying so. "Oh, good. You just kinda zoned out and looked at the tv. I'm just worried cuz it's off." A split second after he said that, Jared started crying and incoherently ranting about his job. "Aghhh I never get a break and even if I do I don't and never get good sleep no matter how hard I try and i can barely afford anything meaningful and I've never been happy in 19 years and I've never found love and I have barely any friends who even talk to me and I can never talk to people and we can't afford therapy and I can't die because I'm a ghost and so I have no way out so I'm stuck like this foreverrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!" He cried, speaking faster than a professional rapper. Keymeo, seeing how sad his roommate was decided to put his arm around his roommate's back. "Eww, leave me alone!" Jared shrieked like a little girl as he dashed to his room. As Jared shut the door, he started crying. "Why is life like this?" He asked no one in particular. He slowly walked to his bed, as it was the only break from things he could ever get. "Why does my life have to be like this?" He quietly cried, putting on his favorite show to fall asleep to: "the faceless fighter"; a filmed and edited version of assorted combat sports with the participants wearing masks. Soon after, he fell asleep. (Pov change, Keymeo) (7:10 pm, stranta, 14th,) Keymeo, after watching the TV for a while, went to bed. Whilst in bed, he looked at his "nopisspeter" poster and thought "he really fell off after his sixth album." Then he fell asleep. (12:23 am, stranta, 15th,) Keymeo woke up in a cold sweat. A mix of emotions flooded his brain: Sadness, anxiousness and.. arousal? He felt insane and like a living mess. However, he decided to look for a way to get his roommate a better job. (1:20 am, stranta, 15th,) Keymeo quietly opened his room door and walked into the living room. "Frick, I need to make a sandwich!" He softly exclaimed in a weird pervert voice. He grabbed some bread from the fridge. soon after, he grabbed some spinach and cheese. Then he assembled it. He then ate the sandwich because no sane person microwaves such a sandwich. He quietly opened the front door, walking like a cartoon character to stay quiet. He Walked down the stairs slowly, trying not to make them clang as he stepped down them. Once he got to the sidewalk, He slowly walked across the street. After all, there were virtually no cars on the road that night, so there was minimal danger. He slowly started walking across, carefully looking for a building with some sort of "help wanted" type sign. Their were so many buildings, he knew he would probably find one. When suddenly, he saw something in the corner of his eye. "Hey, hey! I got a job for you!" A mysterious man said. Keymeo jerked 180 degrees in an instant, shocked by the man's sudden and nasaly voice. He was rather short, roughly 5 feet tall. He was bald and had desaturated green skin that shined in the streetlight. His eyes were yellow, akin to a regurgitated banana. "Oh, uh hi. I'm keymeo. Who are you?" Keymeo asked, surprised that anyone would be out at this hour. "Oh, well I'm ken, dirter, flurter." Ken responded. "Oh, ok Ken, what's the job?" Keymeo asked, still shocked from the short man jumpscare. "Ey, slow down. I gotta know more about you, what are some things you'd put on a paper to summarize your self?" Ken asked. "Oh, and sorry for scaring you." Ken continued swiftly. Keymeo proceeded to describe himself as • charismatic • understanding And • funny. "That works! So basically, the job is kinda like, y'know, making friends with random people to learn their secrets." Ken said. Keymeo felt odd about it, he could not imagine the ethical implications that such a job would entail. Yet, he decided to agree. "Alright, keep this.. er.. clipboard? I guess, and bring it back with your initials on it at 178 farmstreet by the John's pizza." Ken told Keymeo. Keymeo started walking back to the apartment with the paperwork, wondering if this was a good idea. He then thought "didn't Jared get harassed by the secretary last month?" So he continued walking home, climbing upstairs. He opened the door quietly, as to not wake Jared. Then he slowly walked towards his bedroom door. When he walked in he went to check up on his phone. "No battery‽" He exclaimed quietly. "Well, I guess I'll just sleep on the couch." He said. Whilst walking to the couch, he thought about what it would be like to have a girlfriend. He laid down on the couch, wondering what he would want from a partner.
