are all the sounds from 1:04 till 2:00 from the prelude? and how do you get that very late delay sound?
@Pedalnerds8 жыл бұрын
Yes, all the reverb/delay sounds are from the Prelude. Starting at 1:04 I am using a glass slide with a volume pedal into the Prelude to get that effect.
@Akoeistic8 жыл бұрын
Nathan Shafer ah thanks, it sounds really cool.
@Pedalnerds8 жыл бұрын
roel0o If you swell in the volume pedal as you slide into a note with the delay set at feedback low and mix high while setting the reverb mix high that should get you there.

Not using a baritone actually. It's a regular guitar tuned to an open C# tuning (I think). It does give that baritone guitar vibe with the low tuning.

Hi Nathan, thanks for this nice demo. question: I already own a Diamond Memory Lane jr, a Strymon Dig, an Empress Vintage Super Delay plus a Strymon Blue Sky verb. Why should I need this Prelude Delay, that has no tap tempo nor a reverse mode?
@ryannicholson80057 жыл бұрын
If you have all of those, you probably don't need any more. But I'd definitely get more!
@midotpatrick46487 жыл бұрын
Ahahah, story of my life too. I struggle on a daily basis not to buy more delays but my spirit is so weak...
@Pedalnerds7 жыл бұрын
If you own all of those, you would buy this reverb because you like the sounds(and visual design) and it offers something unique with it having the delay and reverb combined in one pedal. Maybe you want to have a certain combination of delay and reverb ready to go in one pedal where you can just kick it on.

what is it? A belton + pt2399 combo?
@mosesramirez63307 жыл бұрын
A critique on the pedal: why 5 presses and *then* a long press for burst mode? Seems excessive. Why not simply a long press or double tap w/long press?
@Kory01226 жыл бұрын
Moses Ramirez probably because someone could accidentally switch it over to momentary with less presses. So by making it 5 it becomes a deliberate choice.

Sometimes I feel that the music being played in these reverb/delay videos is extremely limited to slow ambient style guitar. Now I know that these pedals lend themselves to this type of playing, but i would love to hear some playing that is more akin to what most people play/ listen to. For example, I would love to hear how these pedals respond with some more gain. Maybe some floyd style delay sounds
@ianchandler99938 жыл бұрын
Great demo, but it'd be even greater if you branched out into a newer demo video style. The Knobs thing works for Knobs--I'd rather see something in your style than his.
@TW-AZ8 жыл бұрын
I agree and disagree. Knobs hasn't really been doing much in terms of traditional relaxing ambient stuff. Musically Nathan's sounds are a little more mainstream and help me hear the potential of the pedal in a situation I would be likely to use it in. So musically I think they are different, at least compared to Knobs' current stuff. Stylistically the Knobs method of using text to annotate is just incredibly efficient at getting information across without interrupting the sound. The backgrounds are similar stylistically but where the videos styles differ is in story telling. Knobs videos tend to have a background story going where as far as I can tell Nathan just uses pretty backgrounds. So I guess there is some obvious homage to the style Knobs developed, but I also think these videos are different enough that I enjoy them. In fact, in some ways, I enjoy them more. I would suggest at least keeping the (more mainstream) use of the pedals and text information. That really just leaves the backgrounds to change around...
@johnetone7 жыл бұрын
I want to give Knobs a shout out for changing the way people make demos! She is a gifted and visionary artist! And I want to give Nathan a shout out for making it his own thing and still progressing in a very descriptive and user friendly demo. I think it is totally cool for people to be inspired by others and make it their own. That's how we all progress. Evolution is a caterpillar!
@ianchandler99937 жыл бұрын
Yo, Knobs is a guy.
@johnetone7 жыл бұрын
I don't think all of the members of the "Knobs" team are guys. But I don't necessarily have proof of that. I've seen some feminine looking hands in those demos. But then again, I've seen some feminine looking hands on many musicians hands. #genderbias #amireversesexist? #haha
