Isolation pads should be installed with the roundness to the outside just like the bracket is... you got yours backwards... you are getting a lot of noise transfer the way you got it but it'll work fine...

Appreciate the feedback. Next time I'm up in the attic I'll try to correct it because for the most part it's definitely quiet, but if I can do it better, it'll be worth the effort.

you forgot to seal all the gaps with Aluminum Duct Tape... Didnt they supply the black panels that go around the fan? Mine had it 4 panels...

If you watch part 2, you'll see I corrected myself, but I didn't use aluminum duct tape... which is a good idea. 👍

What is the demention of the fan. 16 inches?
@PlanItSendIt2 жыл бұрын
Good question... I can see the documentation only shows "shipping" dimensions. I apologize I don't know and if it were easy to get into my attic, I'd go up and measure it real fast, but it isn't. I recommend emailing QuietCool for the answer. Hopefully your question will drive them to at least update their website.

These videos never cover the mysterious way the power is hooked up to the house/breaker box.
@PlanItSendIt2 жыл бұрын
I don't know about others, but mine would require quiet a bit of work to trace a cable to the breaker box. I have a general idea of how it flows, but that's the extent of my knowledge. That's why for this installation I just tapped into what was in the attic. I at least know which breaker it's on though... just not the path to the box.

You do know this fan is useless right? Air like water draws from the closet point. So you are drawing air in from the top louvers and exhausting it out via the fan. The attic is completely out of this loop. You need to block the top louvers so air will be drawn from the attic area. Nice try but it needs work. Physics at work

I have plans to improve the air flow from some of the comments, but I recommend you take a look at part 2 where I shown the qualitative and quantitative results.
