honestly, sincerely, maybe the funniest sub-character of all time in any comedy. I swear, if you put this exact performance -- non-PC lines and all -- into a modern-day comedy, Carvey (of whatever actor) would explode globally. "I said, 'Eat this!' and put it into 5th." Oh, man, the only film character ever where EVERY line is quotable. From the innocent Mormon set-up to the Row Row Row all-star finale. I still quote this thing multiple times a year.

This movie is the reason I got the worst ass whooping in American history. Ill never forget I was in the first grade it was around Christmas time and we had Christmas carols on a paper. I had watched this movie with my sister and my aunt over the weekend. The part where Richard Pryor called the big red lawnmower a big motherfucker was funny. So when I went to school I told one of my little friends that I heard a curse word on a movie. She asked what was the word? I wrote the word "motherfucker" on the carol (Mind you im just learning how to spell).I got scared and threw the paper away(I didn't think to erase it because I wrote it with a pencil). So, when it was time to sing along the teacher asked where my carol? My face told on me so she got suspicious and grilled me. Then she finally looked in the trash and found it. She called my mother and she came up to the school. She snatched me up by my arm in front of the class and said " So you can spell curse words but you can't spell your middle name huh?!" We took a walk outside to a tree and she made me pick a switch. The one I picked was too small so she made me get another (My mother is old school). As she's taking some of the leaves off and twisting the switches together I started crying and begging and she said "Before I tear your ass up tell me how you spelled it right. " And I said "I sounded it off" Next thing BAM BAM POP!! Kids laughing im screaming. Pants down bare ass right there in front of everybody for 20 minutes. Im crying and picking leaves out my butt and legs she and said " Now go on back to class and when you get home your daddy gon whoop yo ass too

gumptown7414 Old school ass whooping! Those days are long gone and now more and more kids run amok with little respect or regard for any kind of discipline or authority.
@TheRamsberg
@TheRamsberg 8 жыл бұрын
+Frankmt215 +gumptown7414 Discipline can be derived from a substantial quantity of directions. Drill instructors in the Armed Forces can't touch their pupils, nor can head Coaches in the NFL beat up their players. Please don't confuse the implementation of discipline with an act of violence.
@Frankmt215
@Frankmt215 8 жыл бұрын
+TheRamsberg Physical discipline is not an act of violence, try again. And the Armed Forces instructor and NFL coach are mentally conditioning their "pupils" (sorry I think it is hilarious that you call a NFL football player a "pupil") in order to have one go through the most EXTREME ACTS OF VIOLENCE IMAGINABLE and in a foreign country no less and the other go through an idiotic sport that drives millions of morons ape shit over watching a bunch of neanderthals literally beat the bag out of each other over some empty primitive pride...oh and yes billions of dollars that they are essentially swindling from imbeciles who think it truly matters that their football team (or any sport team) is winning some championship. Sooo if I get this straight, you are saying that we should mentally condition our children like Armed Forces drill sergeants and NFL football coaches who are preparing their students (ie "pupil") for engaging in acts of violence, one for political reasons and the other for entertainment reasons, but both truly for economic reasons. Yet you want to say that we shouldn't physically discipline our kids when it is warranted? You shouldn't confuse your stupidity with intelligence, no one else is.
@TheRamsberg
@TheRamsberg 8 жыл бұрын
+Frankmt215 No, what I am pointing out is that those two occupations require a tremendous quantity of discipline. Regarding the Armed Forces, without proper discipline, one ends up being killed. Thus my point being that in the Armed Forces, where there are the most severe consequences if one is not sufficiently disciplined, they don't employ physical assaults on the people being trained to instill said discipline.
@TheRamsberg
@TheRamsberg 8 жыл бұрын
+Frankmt215 Let me put it another way, Is it all right for me to physically strike a cashier if they make a mistake or disrespect me? If one is a manager of a business is it all right to physically strike ones employees to discipline them if they show disrespect or ineptitude? If it isn't, then why is it ok to do so to children? Here is the definition of violence: " Behavior involving physical force intended to hurt, damage, or kill someone or something." Physical discipline is indeed intended to hurt and damage a person, thus it is by definition an act of violence.

I read that Richard Pryor doesn't remember making this movie at all, not even a little bit, because he was completely smacked out of his mind on heroin. He was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis so he was probably in a lot of pain and self medicated with heroin. He probably was still doing loads of blow and crack too. With that said, he was a very funny comedian and actor, and never fails to make me laugh. This movie is underrated if you ask me, and Dana Carvey is also hilarious in this.
