I also wanted to mention and to anyone else. I have seen a few videos of and read a lot of reviews of those plastic car ramps. They seem so nice but a lot of people have had them break. Can be very dangerous. They have metal ramps that are more sturdy. Be safe everyone, especially on a low riding car.
@5MinuteFixit
@5MinuteFixit 6 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the heads up I will keep an eye on them and maybe throw some jack stands under for safety.
@Nate-qc8kb
@Nate-qc8kb 4 жыл бұрын
Break?? What else are they putting up there? These little Mazda 3's max curb weight is 3100lbs. The Rhino ramps as shown in this video (I have the same set) can handle up to 12,000lbs. Thats nearly 4x the weight of the car! I use the same ramps for my Mazda 3 as I do for my wife's 5000 lb SUV. No issues at all. I think as long as the wheels are driven right up the center of the ramp, you should be OK.
@GMoney-B
@GMoney-B 2 жыл бұрын
@@Nate-qc8kb Be careful though. Can't hut to throw some jack stands under there just as a precaution. Not worth the risk otherwise turning into a squashed pumpkin pie beyond repair. It seems to vary brand to brand from reviews I have gone through. A lot of brands also seem to have vary wide consistencies. Ones that broke also were ranging from holding sedan's to suv's to trucks.

Thanks for getting straight to it without needing a 5 minute intro filler. good idea of using a little bit of old oil to apply a layer on the new filter gasket before installing for a better seal. A thing i do want to mention (if not already known); sometimes when uninstalling the old oil filter, the gasket will detach/remain on the engine, so double check if it's still on the old filter after uninstalling. Nothing worse than finding out that there's a double gasket between the new filter and the engine.

23 ~30 FT lbs for the drain plug. That's to properly seal that plug with enough tension on the crush washer. Miss the last part of starting the vehicle & just check for leaks at the filter and drain plug areas, just in case you're not detail oriented

Crush washers are cheap if you buy a pack of them instead of individually. I only replace them every other oil change. If I ever buy a used car and started my first oil change on it, I also replace it since I have no idea if it's new or old. If it's a new car I bought, then I'd reuse the existing washer until the next oil change
