With that terrible of production, it's amazing that Egypt managed to make any wonders at all.

Barbarians stop giving experience after the second promotion, so those archers haven't been getting any experience for awhile. This means fighting barbarians far away from home is mostly a waste of time. (Since I'm on he topic.) As for barbarian units near cities, generally avoid melee attacking them unless you're actively clearing a camp. Use your units as blockers and let them come at you, holding ground with defense bonuses. A dead barbarian is quickly replaced, so there's no hurry in killing them. You just need to keep them off your stuff. It's better to let a damaged one wander around doing nothing than to kill it and replace it with a fresh one back at the camp. And here's a little-known tip: Barbarians will never move and range attack in the same turn. If there's a one-tile gap between your unit and a Hand-Axe, it's safe for the next turn.

It's easy. You start it up and play on the lowest difficulty to learn. The AI will never declare war on you on the lowest difficulty.
