Creating a simple quilled flower bookmark is a delightful craft project! Here's a basic guide to get you started:
Materials Needed:
1. Quilling paper strips in various colors (for petals and leaves)
2. Quilling tool
3. Cardstock or heavy paper for the bookmark base
4. Glue
5. Scissors
6. Pencil (for shaping)
Steps:
1. Prepare your quilling strips. Cut strips into lengths appropriate for your flower petals and leaves.
2. Start by quilling the flower petals. Roll a strip of paper tightly using the quilling tool to create a coil. Release the coil slightly to form a loose circle, then glue the end to secure it.
3. Repeat step 2 to create additional coils for petals, using different colors if desired. For a basic flower, you'll need around 6-8 petals.
4. Arrange the petals in a circle, overlapping them slightly, and glue them together.
5. Create a smaller coil for the flower center and glue it in the middle of the petals.
6. To create leaves, quill a strip of green paper into a loose coil and then pinch one end to form a teardrop shape.
7. Glue the leaves to the back of the flower.
8. Cut a strip of cardstock or heavy paper to your desired bookmark size and shape.
9. Glue the quilled flower onto one end of the bookmark, ensuring it's firmly attached.
10. Allow the glue to dry completely before using your new quilled flower bookmark!
