These videos always seem to make it look so easy! I have a harder time- for instance: when I'm using the beehive technique, I am never sure when to stop rolling to come out with uniform sized little circles, or I get a different number of circles on each strip even tho the strips were the same length! Please tell me this gets easier with practice and time! Also, it seems like the finished flowers I see in your videos are "thicker" than mine. Maybe the paper you use is thicker? Anyways-- great tutorial and very nice flowers! Thanks!
@AyaniArt9 жыл бұрын
Danielle White Indeed you get used by time with the uniformity in size. What I use also is counting how many times I roll the paper around the quilling tool and it helps. I am using the 180 gr paper and it does make a difference. However, if you use thinner paper, you have to use more strips to fill the holes and it will look equally beautiful.

Perhaps I just don't know what key words to use in searching for answers. I'm new o Quilling, and would like to understand how one places the quilled items on top of each other. I'm guessing pieces are glued in place, but how does one set the long slender 1/8" to stand on it's edge without getting glue on a background? I've seen many beautiful wall hangings, and often they look flat, but I'm sure there is a trick or two that totally escapes me. Will try this same question on your web site. Thanks for the wonderful videos.

Really love your videos. I am new to quilling. Want to know which paper u use to cut your strips and which glue u use loved the fine tip of the glue. Please keep uploading videos. Thanks
@AyaniArt10 жыл бұрын
I´m glad you loved the videos. I use 160 gr paper which I cut with a manual shredder and clear gel tacky glue. I buy both of them from Hobby Lobby(US). I have the bottle for the glue from another country and I just refill it from a bigger one.However, there are many options with quilling glue, depending on which country and place you live.

What kind of glue is that? It look that you don't have to wait till it dry
@AyaniArt8 жыл бұрын
It's called Aleene's Clear Gel Tacky Glue. You do have to wait a little bit, but it dries way faster than the white school glue

How do you make it waterproof?
@AyaniArt3 жыл бұрын
Hi Preeta, I actually don't apply anything. I know people use a sealer/protection. It's a type of spray that is used for pictures, but I never used it. Other people also frame it in a shadow box so it's covered by glass....I usually prefer it uncovered but it takes away from its durability

I will make a tutorial in the future about it. Basically, you use different lengths strips. The first one is the smallest, the two following ones, a little bit bigger, and so on. I used also a dark green strip as a margin around them. I don´t know how to explain it more in written format. I would have to show it to you, but I hope it´s still useful
