Hi, Emma. It’s Joanna and Aushe here. I got a job as a costume designer for a dance school! I am so excited. I start in the New Year. I had quit trying to find work in this field, and your videos reminded me how much I love sewing. I plucked up the courage to ask my employment councillor to look for a job for me in costume design, and she found me one! It’s a huge dance school. They have nine studios and an in house theatre. They have three full time costumers, including a master tutu maker. Thank you so much for all your fantastic inspiration. Your love of sewing is infectious. I feel so happy and hopeful when I watch your videos. ❤❤❤ I would never have had the nerve to look for work in my field otherwise. I love all the inspiring quilts. Thank you for introducing me to this technique of quilting as you go and hand stitching. I have made several quilts over the years but always hesitate starting another one because of the time commitment of finishiing a big project. This is perfect and I love intergrating embroidery in the quilts as I love doing that as well but have not done as much of it as I used to. I love the portability of the hand stitching so you're not tied to a machine.

This was so good! I didn't know there was a bunch of people working on a quilt-as-you-go project at the same time. I happened to start one at the same time as the ladies you featured in your video too. Mine has a Halloween theme. I work on it during all of my zoom meetings for work. Hi Emma, I ordered one of the Serious Readers lamps, which arrived just recently. It really is brilliant and thank you for the offer code because I got the free bedside/compact lamp along with it. I have really enjoyed this video it has really inspired me to make one out of material I collected in 2005 on our first trip to Western Australia from Ardrossan in South Australia. We towed a camper trailer and our 15 year old son was with us as well. We visited many quilt shops and I purchased a piece of material from each one. I have just had a big clean up in my sewing room and found this bundle of fabric all labelled to where I had purchased it. I can’t wait to begin thank you so much Emma 👏💞🙂🙏🏻

Thanks so much for your video! I started one of these using a bunch of fat quarters that I had been picking up when on sale. It's been a lot of fun. What a delightful episode! You must be thrilled to bits to know you have inspired so much creativity. You have certainly inspired me. I haven't yet started on a quilt as you go hexie quilt, but certainly plan to. I have, however, made one of your precious needlebooks, and am in process on your sewing case and hexie paper piecing storage container. I asked Santa for some Liberty scraps so I can finish these up. Since 1999, when my mother died, I've saved a lavender ultra-suede dress she wore for YEARS and the dress she wore for my wedding, made of a lovely Liberty print, though not a lawn. I kept waiting for the perfect project and am so glad I did. These lovely hexie pieces you created are the perfect way to combine these treasured fabrics into items I will use forever, and possibly/hopefully pass on to a grandchild one day. Thank you for your lovely videos and wonderful creativity. Wishing you and your dear family the happiest of holiday seasons!
