Quilter MicroPro 200 Guitar Amp Demo, great jazz guitar amp

I just wanted to say that I've had my Quilter now for about two weeks and am madly in love with it. I have people coming up to me all the time asking what I'm using. I love the ease of it! When I walk into a gig with a tiny little amp people look at me like I've lost my mind. Then they hear it and ask where they can buy one! It's actually 200 watts! Man... the best jazz amp I've found yet. Even over the $2500 and up classics!

The more I hear playing like this i realize how beautiful jazz and music can be....as I get older I guess my tastes move away from rock etc and to the sultry classy world of Jazz!

Four Owls That's what happened to me..As I got older my taste in music grew.What I really like today I wouldnt be caught dead listening to when i was in my teens and twenty's..But I must admit that I still love me some Zeppelin \Beatles...But Jazz is really great music.And Classical guitar..Very complicated chord progression...I'm trying to play it now

I bought the head version of this amp and I play it through a 1x12 inch cab. Sounds great for blues and country, as well as probably whatever else you want to use it for. And so light I can lift it with my index finger. I've only gigged with it a couple of times as I usually play acoustic and go straight into a PA, but the couple of electric gigs I did with it sounded great. Likes pedals.

Awesome 👏🏾 playing. I own a Tone Block 200 and just ordered a 2x10 Quilter extension cabinet. Tone Block 4 lbs. ,cab 27 lbs. my Mesa Boggie 22 1x12 48 lbs. The amp is quiet and sounds great. I have used it on a couple of studio gigs and the engineer love it.

Rich, I had noted this amp in your videos and was wondering about it. What caught my ear was the clarity and full bodied, round tone. Surely sounds sweet with the Eastman. And the masterful guitarist helps.

Just received my Micropro 200 "studio." Nice wood cabinet. Really lightweight. Cannot wait to plug it in tonight and could not pass up the 30 day try out.

Thanks Rich, you did a better demo than the guy who actually works for Quilter. I got a MicroPro head recently and I think is one of the most versatile amps I've had. Weather Jazz, Fusion,Blues, Rock, this thing is can handle it all!

I love the MicroPro 200 8" sound. Just ordered one for myself. I play the Eastman JP880 so this was a very helpful for making the plunge. I played through a Henriksen 112R but i've never heard tones like this!

Yes. I prefer the 10" for jazz and then adding the extension cab for louder gigs

Great demo Rich. I too look for lighter gear that can do a big job as I get older. This amp is awesome. Great clean tone, features and weighing in at 18.6 pounds, you can't beat it! I was not to pleased with the overdrive sounds but, after watching the demo on their website, I was very pleased withe smooth, creamy overdriven sounds. Perhaps they had a bit more controlled recording environment. I love this amp and will have to own one soon. Thanks agin for the great demo Rich!

My friend Brad Rabuchin came to our jazz camp a couple of years ago with a Henriksen and i thought it sounded really good. I think the Quilter would be just as good if not better. It's hard to say without having them next to each other. The Quilter is very quiet and there is no hiss when playing and they do have a buy back program if you're not happy with it.. I'm really impressed with it.

Love your playing! I've had this amp for a while and I think Quilter's marketing needs to exploit it's unreal full range clean tones at loud volumes as opposed to much of the distortion based ads and demos they've been doing. Its loud clean abilitiy is on par with much larger and heavier amps and is unique to amp of this portability.

I have been playing around with the idea of a Henriksen Jazzamp 110 but to be honest I haven't found them to be all that quiet. There's kind of a mild hiss that occurs when the guitar is being played. Currently, I use a Hagstrom J600 and Viking which I am love with. (They're the closest thing I've found to gibson without the 4000 dollar price tag.) Anyway I was wondering if you felt that this amp holds it's own well next to a Henriksen? It sounds great and seems quiet. Thanks love your playing.

This one is better than the Henriksen. I tried one today and I am getting one tomorrow. I have a Godin with two pickup outputs and this is perfect. The 8 is supposed to have a better speaker dispersion 130 degrees vs 90 for the 12, But I am getting the 12 anyway and then use my old Peavey 4X8 cab as an extension. Nor as chimey as Fenders but like a clean Mesa Mark IV IMO as far as tube character is concerned. Logarithmic pots so won't be as loud as a twin on 2 but equal when cranked to 5 +.

What I like about Henriksen besides the sound is its easy (for me) to dial in sound/tone I want. The quilter sounds great! All those knobs too much for me. Oh well it's all subjective. Thanks for the demo!

I have a Henriksen, and the reverb is unsatisfying. It has no effects loop in which to put a reverb unit, and having to set up a reverb pedal creates more setup work than I want to do with a small amp. Other Henriksen users agree that the reverb is a weak point on this amp. There is also a mid-range honk to the Henriksen that can be difficult to EQ out, depending on the guitar and pickups being used. The Evans amp has a more satisfying tone, and better reverb, to my ear.

Hey Rich, digging this, on the noise issue, I have the newish Mesa Mark V / 35, love it, 45lbs, but, it has a very noticeable fan sound, always looking for portable good sounding amps, love your clips, how does this compare with Ron Eschete’s Evans amps? Very Wes on one note,

the Evans are a bit obscure, had a nice talk with the builder, pricey, ultimately went with the Mesa, half as heavy than my old Mark IV , but was always a Twin guy, the V - 35, doesn't through out my back, Ha

I have and own a D-v MARK JAZZ 50 guitar head and speakers I have the dedicated 2 x 8 speakers (2 of them) look 4 the video on here in you tube and check it out ( it is not 2 change u mind on what u have) but I can't afford those amps (quilter combo) let alone a heritage guitar.

All the positive and constructive comments regarding the amp are fine, but why not answer Mr. D. Brown (above) and list the price for this one amp model? Transparency across the board removes buyers doubts on a tentative purchase. Why not be forthright? Prior agreement with the manufacturer not to do so? Just be honest.
