Erica, I just finished my Bargello quilt. I had asked you for advice on how to quilt it on my domestic machine. You suggested straight lines up and down. I thought about it but decided I wanted something that had more energy to it. I ended up tracing the pattern of a particular fabric from the top of the quilt to the bottom. Because the pattern formed a wavy line across the quilt, following that pattern from top to bottom of the quilt, produced an energy with that really looked pretty in the end. Thank you so much for responding to my request for help. I do not think any of the other YT posters would have been so forthcoming and quick with useful help. You are much appreciated.

Thank you so much for your kind words. I think that I was trying to describe what you actually did (maybe not well enough). I am glad that your quilting worked and that you are proud of your quilt. Thanks for watching and supporting my channel!

Erica, OMG! You’re a Bargello angel! I’ve been searching for how to chart out my own Bargello for weeks and not sure how I finally found you, but boy oh boy am I glad I did! I knew this couldn’t be too difficult as I graph a lot of my own quilts but I wasn’t sure where to start. Thank you a million times. Your explanations are so clear and easy to follow.

Great job. Didn’t realize the magnitude thought process that goes into a bargello quilt and then you have to pick fabrics. Thank you for sharing the process. I love that baby bargello quilt.

Thank you so much for watching! I like to think that I am a pretty easygoing quilter, but there are some things that have to be specific for me.

Is the bargello quilt pattern beginner friendly? I am a garment maker. This would be my first quilt.
@PurpleQuiltCo6 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your question. I think that in your case, a bargello could be your first quilt because you already have sewing experience. I would suggest looking a pictures of bargello quilt and deciding on a pattern that you like. I am not sure that I would start with the varying widths of the strip unit; perhaps using the same width would work better. I have also seen quilts that use a bargello style block. It may have five or six strips that you would move around, instead of the 13 or 14 shown here.
