Beautiful as always. If I were to use a blanket stitch what size length and width? Would a tiny zig zag be better?

Edyta actually did a straight stitch on her pieces. She will be coming out with a new video that will show a close up of these stitches for this quilt and also the background! So Stay tuned :D

I’m fairly new to machine applique. When you quilt your layers, do you quilt around the appliqued pieces, or do you quilt around them?

It will depend on the project and the look that I am going for. Sometimes I will quilt around them and other times I will quilt over them to keep them to stay!
