Great presentation. Now quilty math seems to be something that many quilters avoid. However, mastering 1.414 (the factor of a diagonal to the sides of a square) is one of the most useful and powerful nuggets that allow a quilter to size side setting and and corner setting triangles in any of their applications. Now truly, some of the math can make one's head hurt--and I managed to configure the all of the elements in a LeMoyne Star only because it is one of my favorite blocks and there is precious little out there on sizing components. (I later came to own EQ8 which helps take some of the head scratching out of this stuff.)
