I was invited to 5 Quinceaneras and I had no idea how much planning went into them until I told my friend his daughter could have hers at my house in my back yard. That was the first time I was ever kicked out of my own house for 3 days. It was fun to watch a little girl I had known since birth blossom into a beautiful young woman. It was the most heart warming experience I have ever seen or participated in.

@@Nay-dn8dc •Find your church/venue, and save the date •Find your DJ or grupo (whatever you prefer, but you do need to book them ahead of time). Don’t be shy to tell them what music you prefer. •Book your photographer and videographer if you want nice pictures and a quince movie. •Find your dress and theme, before anything you need to have the colors you want •Decide on how your going to do invitations (if you do paper invites your gonna need to design and have someone print them very soon). I did digital invites (didn’t waste paper, people still knew when and where my quince was happening) •Decide on your court (chambelanes, damas, etc) and if you’re gonna do a waltz or surprise dance with them, so that you can then think about hiring a choreographer/scheduling practices. Also, decide on their outfits •Make your schedule (entrance, waltz (with chambelanes, padrinos, etc, traditional changing of shoe, crown, etc , surprise dance) You can have someone or your DJ ready this. If your going to have that time when you dance with all your padrinos and people that helped you with the party, don’t forget to list their names in the correct order. •Make your guest list (I recommend excluding people you know fight/make scenes). Also, I don’t recommend making your quince open invite, because it looks reallyyyy bad if you run out of food •Decide on your padrinos for the usual stuff (ring, bracelet, crown, necklace, etc). You can also have padrinos for your dj, venue, drinks/food, whatever you need •Reserve the chairs/tables, and decorations if you’ll be renting them. If your making them/buying them, you should still try to have them ready to go at least 3-4 weeks beforehand. •Pick the hair style, makeup look, jewelry, outfit changes, etc that you want. Tip: don’t let anyone bully you into picking something you don’t want, it’s literally YOUR day. I think I covered all the major stuff, some tips I would give you is to smile all day period. You don’t want to look mad on a day that’s supposed to be incredibly special. DO NOT SIT DOWN for the majority of your party. Go around and say hi, dance ALOT, and overall just enjoy it to the fullest. Don’t stress about small stuff, even if something goes wrong it’s not your job to fix it. Stuff did go wrong during my quince, but overall I’m happy I had one, because the memory of all the important people in my life coming together to celebrate me is so special.

some advice for you guys is to plan it early. as in at least a year in advanced. i turn fourteen this year and we are already planing, my bday is in june lol. i say this because quince's get really expensive. my Grandma (spanish one) is planning it. and she spent 10k on my tia. so PLAN EARLY to cut cost and save your parents that coin.

For my quince I’ll do almost everything the same but ill have kpop songs for waltz and 2 surprise dances the one that goes first is just the normal traditional Hispanic music such as bachata but there will be a bigger and better surprise dance after which consists the songs Kill this love, Mago, and Bad boy which the girls will dance then the boys turn and their songs are Levanter, Get cool, and Shine. Then we all get together and dance Left and right. Mind you their kpop songs :))

I might have a quince this year. I am mixed and I have hispanic family as well as me (I’ve always been asked if I am mexican for the past few years because of my facial structure and my skin is a tad bit more tan on my arms and legs but I’m pale in the face which leads people to question me since I don’t look like the traditional Hispanic girl) I am white because my mother is Russian. My aunt asked me my age a couple years ago and she said that I should have a quince. I was never taught any of my cultures. I don’t have any knowledge abt it. Great video as always! Girls, this is something you and your parents should also go over with your DJ or coordinator (if you hired one). You’ll let your DJ know what music you want played for each event for a customized event. Don’t assume anything and make sure you get this info over to your DJ.
