I have just test driven the Flyte and I can’t rate this scooter highly enough. The pavements are cambered and I was unable to walk on them but the Flyte managed them easily and was extremely stable. The loading and unloading was made easier with a hooked pole supplied with the docking station eliminating the need to bend - something that I am unable to manage. I can’t wait for my scooter to be delivered so that I can go out once again, something I have been unable to do for over 3 years

If it works like the video it is a quantum step forward as other scooters are not easily transported. Other scooters drop the ball on how you will move the scooter from one place to another. Looks like a great product.

No it does not recharge from the car as this would leave your car battery flat. Speed is 4mph

Does it charge the battery while driving in the car?

No. There are a few reasons behind this. The current required is quite high so would potentialy overwhelm car electrics. Another pproblem is batteries require to be fully charged when they are charged or they may get damaged so the short duration of charging in your average car journey is very quickly going to do more harm to range than it offers. If you allowed the charging to be constant ie. if you left the scooter plugged in it without the engine running it would drain the car battery very quickly indeed leaving you stranded. I hope this helps.

Hi there are not any restrictions on our scooters that we are aware of. The best course of action is to call the cruise company in advance to check that they allow scoters on board. We have numerous customers who have flown with our scooters so I cannot see a problem with them going on a boat!

Everything has limitations and you will only ever get one scooter and docking station in a car.

So far the only handicap vehicle I know of that will accommodate 2 disabled people is the Travel Scoot. It's very well made but since it only has 3 wheels it isn't as stable as four wheel vehicles although it's wonderful if you have good balance. I have taken a fall or two from it but it's amazing. Once you get spoiled by something like that though, you do want more of those types of vehicles for different purposes, which is why I'm now looking at sites like this. It would be niece also if people could invent some kind of fork that you could stick through a shopping cart so manipulate it easier. I do sometimes push a cart with the Travel Scoot although it's very difficult so only do that when I have to purchase quite heavy or very things! The problem with the Travel Scoot is that you need good eyesight to attach the baskets, which this chair above seems to take care of, so most of the time I use it without the baskets, although it has a handy canvas carry bag beneath the seat which allows me to transport even a 6 foot carpet, standing up. You couldn't easily transport such a thing with most wheel chairs. The other advantage of it is that you don't need to own an SUV to use it. It will fit into the trunk of most cars and you can even take it on an airplane or cruise.

@@jpol1439 I don't use the baskets. Instead I put my own plastic shopping box under the seat which allows a lot of room for shopping items. This is a bonus compared to most scooters which have no space to store anything large under the seat.

The battery could get some damage from charging for months on end withot use but this would merely cause a reduced runtime and ability to hold a charge. They certainly will not catch fire! The only time a battery can be dangerous is if the battery is faulty through either a short circuit or if your battery is bulging this denotes there is a fault either with the battery or the the charger and it is overcharging.

Can you leave a charger on after it is charged

The chargers will stop charging when the battery is fully charged. However the charger must be switched on at the mains if left plugged in to the scooter. If you turn the mains off it will slowly start to drain the batteries.

Not it is not permanent. The docking station can be removed whenever you want or installed whenever you want. It can also be moved in to a new car, though some new parts for the docking station may be required as they are adapted to fit a car rather than the car being adapted to fit it.
