One of my favorite songs...ever. LOVE this version!!! My sister and I entered a radio contest in 1978 singing this in 2 part harmony. She played acoustic guitar. We came in 2nd! I miss singing more than words can say. Lost my voice to severe acid reflux. It scarred my voice box and vocal chords, like losing a limb.

I love the way he builds his solos. A very tasteful player. He's really grown over the years and could stand next to his heroes trading licks anyday of the week.

I do agree totally Corey. He popped up in 2016 playing with his former mentor (he need none now) Buddy Guy. Buddy did a good job and Quinn is maturing in a great and fascinating way. Only 23 now. What a talent!🎸🎹🤟

Saw Quinn when he was about 15 yrs old in Portland, OR being introduced by Buddy Guy and this kid blew everyone in the audience away. The crowd was silently listening, open mouthed and just staring at the stage while he played. Very special experience. You felt like you were witnessing the torch being passed from the likes of Clapton, Page, Guy, etc.

I was listening without watching. That mid way lead break was very Deric Trucks, the way he played with his right hand. Just needed the slide….

There are countless cover offerings here on Y.T. that I have viewed , and only but a few contain a magical component that is given by the cover artists for me , and this version is among them. To be specific , this cover version here compels me to remember the era when Eric Clapton switched from playing Gibson's to referring to Fender guitars more often than not. It takes a special talent to convey that vibe and Quinn not only conveys it , but even more embraces it on a rather spiritual level. It transcends and closes the 54 year gap between then and the now. `LIKED'

Like watching Scott Finch in Milwaukee The Prodigy that I've watched since I was 18 years old. He had his own recording studio, made his own guitars, he was the one making sure the sound was just right anyone that knows and watched Scott Finch play in the bands he was in then you know you saw something special and it's probably what this guy is to the people that watch him. I just came across him also, very good!

I always try to list in my head, the influences of Quinn's playing. Obviously his mentor, Buddy Guy. Then folks like Clapton, Hendrix, SRV, and the "3 Kings" of BB, Albert and Freddie. I'm a huge John Lee Hooker fan, so I hear him when ever any great guitarists get in the pocket with the rhythm section. Then there is his Duane Allman stuff when he gets a little jazz-major feel. But one player I never see mentioned, that really seems to be a big part of Quinn's soloing now is Toy Caldwell. His comfort zones on the neck and his dabbling with forefinger & thumb to pick and back again just remind me of Toy. Quinn has been my favorite new guitarist since he was about 8, so please don't misunderstand my listing prior greats. I am more testing my ear than saying Q isn't his own man and master of the 6 string. And I acknowledge bias in looking for guys I already loved when I think I hear them in Quinn's playing. Anyway- such a gift to all of us!
@frankcorral49813 жыл бұрын
I agree, when the camera showed his hand work up close and saw the way he strummed with his thumb i thought of Toy Caldwell. I look foward to watching Quinn touch the stars.

I would love to see him play with some older grades like Eric Clapton. And some of those that are still alive. Although Mr Sullivan is probably one of the greatest young guitarist alive today. As we can all see from a lot of his radios and accolades. As he even played with Buddy Guy who is one of the Premier Blues guitarists. This young man not only can play the guitar with Excellence he also can sing with Excellence as well. I kept an eye on him since he was very young and Youth. Probably 4 years old. He has progressed immensely at his craft and then some. I'm so looking forward to seeing more of him and how he progresses not only with his music but in his life

You should shut your pie hole and appreciate the talent. He is covering a song, not replicating the song. Interpretation is half the beauty of a cover. Don't hate cuz the kid has more talent than you will ever possess.
